Actually, I remember seeing something on the web that ford prototyped a mid-1960s 4 door Mustang. (Remember the 4 door Thunderbird?)

Regarding all the BC comments...

There's obviously marketing aspects to this... i'm sure he was saying it was an option to advertise the capability... but it wasn't seen used and Jay didn't comment on it... so was probably just a shameless plug they were sneaking in for competition

As I've said many times, I don't understand how Dave Pericak, Ron Heiser, and Darren Palmer let the MME GT/PE out of the factory knowing it would get its ass kicked by Tesla MYP.

It's unlikely the Ford director guy on the video signed off on the paperwork/specs for the car delivered to Jay. All he was probably told was it's a GTPE. Besides, I doubt he keeps all this trim options stuff in his head - not part of his job.

It's part of his job and Dave Pericak knows the MME intimately. Here's a good interview with him at the 2019 launch event.


Dave is literally the poster boy when it comes to Mustang. They even made a movie about him as he worked to launch the S550. That's why it boggles my mind that we even have the 5 Second Rule.

I have a 2021 GT (non PE) with metal roof and bluecruise. Not sure if that is still an option for 2022s.

AFAIK it isn't available for the 2022 models. If you add one in your order, you automatically get (and pay for) the other.

Yup, looks like they dropped the ability to get the non-PE with a black painted roof and BlueCruise.
