Light color interior availability

We are still shopping for our next car. Test drove the MachE twice now and it’s definitely a strong contender.

What is up with the light color (Space Gray) interior availability? The dealers here have dozens of MachEs on the lot but 100% with black interiors. We don’t get it. The light color looks pretty classy on the pictures.

Looks good in pictures. We ordered our 2022 with the light interior. The dealer didn't have one on the lot to look at. When a stock unit came in with it, my wife went to look at it. All he had to do was open the door and she changed her mind to black.

The space grey is absolutely beautiful, I have it in my F-150.

Because all the one's with the light interior got bought already and only the black interiors are left on the lot. LOL... But seriously I think dealers order the dark interior because they think more people want it that way.

I have the light interior on my car and absolutely love it. It's the reason I didn't order the First Edition which only came with dark interior.

I have the light interior on my ‘21. Three and a half years on it still looks great and is a much better option here in sunny FLA.

Agree with Tampamike above. 3+ years with the space gray interior and would not want black in this Arizona sun. Car sits outside all day at work. Seats aren't nearly as hot as the black ones in my Tacoma. Plus the interior looks better in my opinion.

GTs only have dark grey available, so that’s what I have. ?‍?

Not sure I would have gone with white given my exterior color anyhow. Also not a fan of the splashes of white plastic in the dark grey interior of the Rally. ??

It's very much a sky grey rather than white.

I've had both the grey interior (2021 and current) and also the black interior (2022 GT PE). Of course I prefer the light interior in FL. The GT PE seats were amazing though and if they made those in a lighter color... I might switch back lol.

And I really like your 2 tone steering wheel. On my 2023 that has now been replaced by a solid black one.

I really love my light interior because I can be in Arizona in 110 degree weather and the seat only gets slightly hot. All of our EVs have light interiors for this reason

Here is a comparison between the space gray and white. I put a piece of printer paper on the Premium space gray seats.

Also, you mentioned you had the "black" GTPE interior but it is actually Ford Performance Gray like the interior of the Mustang Shelby GT350. Here is a photo with a black sample that matches the Mach-E GT and Premium black interiors on the GTPE Performance Gray.

Consider the environmental conditions where you live as well. We went with the dark interior because we have iron rich red soil all over the island. It stains. If you’re in a concrete jungle that may not be a consideration.

Ford never made the steering wheel in a two-tone. In all of the pre-production photos with the space gray interior, they did show a two-tone steering wheel but it never made it into the final production. The original owner of my car had it custom made in two-tone Italian leather to match the interior. The A-pillars are also black instead of space gray.
