After reading alit of the threads about this obvious issue with MME updating issue I am still stuck and looking for some help. I got my RT1 in May 2021, I noticed the lack of updates and realized I couldn't set my toggle to auto updates.
Seeing the multiple threads about this issue, I'm not going to go over the previous threads, my dealership here in Toms River NJ has been telling me that they are trying to update my car but in their words, it's not uploading, 3 days and they say it's a server issue, they are nice enough there, but not sure if they are out of the depths or just to busy to look into in once they plug in my car.
I would have to believe they know about the TSB reports, they say some cars uploads with no issues while others would come back 3 times before it works, odd to me.
So anyway, reading alot of you here know in some cases more than dealership ppl, if anyone knows the fix, which would be great, or if anyone here is knows of a dealership here in NJ that are fixing this issue/know MME well please lmk, I'm exhausted with this and just looking for this to end. Thanx!!

I just did this on my own this past weekend, and took about 10 min for the update to complete. I think the hardest part is getting to the plug in the footwell, but even that only took a few minutes to do.

I followed the steps outlined in TSB: 22-2150, and honestly FDRS tells you what to do. The attached labeled steps is from another forum member and its pretty accurate on how it works.

Out of all the updates I have ran myself so far this one has been the easiest to do. Once this was done I was able to turn auto updates on, and show a sync version.

Thanks,

Ken~

You need a semi-decent Windows 8 or 10 laptop, a 40A or bigger vehicular power supply, a USB to OBD-2 cable compatible with FDRS, and a license to the FDRS software. Oh, and the intestinal fortitude to perform the manual updates while hoping you don’t brick your car (bricking a car is extremely rare). ???

Yeah, after I sent thst reply I remembered seeing a DIY guide, but to me, I am will buy the mongoose interface and spend the 800 a year for the license just so I don't have to deal with the dealership anymore
Yeah, it's annoying I have to spend near 2k to do this, but I am more confident in my abilities than the dealership at this point

It's worth it I feel. I only did the 48hr license as I don't plan to update the car that often. Figure 2 or 3 times a year when major releases come out.
After getting myself unstuck from 1.7.1 last Sat I received my first OTA and now on 2.7.1.

Hopefully means more updates will continue. Regardless I do plan to update my car again in the coming weeks as it will be faster.
