I will be moving to LA for work starting in January. I’ve lived there before and know that EVs are more prominent there than in the South. As I’ve been looking for apartments, I see many of them don’t offer charging stations yet.
So I’ve got a few questions for people that live in that area. 1) Does it damage the battery if I’d have to use a DCFC once a week? 2) I know shopping centers are places that offer charging stations. Is that usually what people depend on?
Any advice is appreciated! Trying not to listen to people that tell me to go back to ICE would be an easier option. ?

If you DC charge once a week you won't damage anything.

You can see charging options on PlugShare.

Many of the major employers here in Southern California have Level 2 charging stations at their place of business. Also, many shopping centers have Level 2 chargers. So Level 3 isn’t your only option.

Volta chargers at shopping centers are free, but slow

Just for example... Take a look at Ford's Blue Oval EV Charging maps. Metro area is target rich environment, but apps that accurately describe real time availability are very useful.

I read the title of this thread not really paying attention and opened it expecting it to be about football.
I wonder if San Diego has an absence of Chargers? ??

Also look for charging options near work. I have two level 2 charging options that are 5-10 minute walks away. Also see if your work would let you level 1 charge if there is an outlet. Let them know that it will only cost about $1-2/day that you charge.

How slow exactly is slow? I've found most Voltas to be at least 6kW, with some going up to 7+kW.
Yes 7kW Home can be up to 12. Slowest DC is 50. You would need to charge every day to utilize Volta for the majority of your needs as they limit you to 2 hrs, nice if you are going to shop anyway. The one near my house is almost always in use.

I think most people understand most public level 2 chargers are around 6.6kW. It's not any slower than normal public charging.
