I think there are way too many variables to draw any conclusions. I have seen several posts stating their insurance went up with the MME. Some by quite a bit. The quote I got from GEICO shows a small reduction (~$23/6 months) when I switch from my 2017 Malibu to the MME here in AZ.

The general finding is that some have gone up (a lot), some have gone down, and some have stayed the same. In other words, you really won't know until you get a quote for yourself.

I replaced a v6 convertible mustang with a Mach E, and my GEICO rate went up by about $200/year. HOWEVER, I apparently never informed them when I changed jobs (20 mi commute to 100 mi commute), so that is part of it. Even more important is that they didn't have firm rates back in February for the MME, so the rep I talked to rated it as a generic SUV. If you get a different agent they might try to rate it as a mustang coupe.

I think that's the main reason for the variability in rates - nobody not every company has a standard rate for it yet so each rep/agent takes a SWAG at the rate.

I had a 2019 Edge ST, switching to the MME raised my rates by about $200 every 6 months.

I was adding the Mach-E as an additional car. The Mach-E cost about 50% more to insure than our 2020 Honda CR-V and 33% more than our 2013 Honda Accord, but was about 33% cheaper than if I had added a Tesla Model Y. Note that the Mach-E cost 50% more than the CR-V, so that doesn't seem out of line. This is through Progressive in Ohio.

Geico has the MME in their system now. I was able to add it to my policy online with just the VIN. It came up as a Ford Mustang with a vehicle type of 4-door Utility. My rate is $259 for 6 months, which is about the same as the Outlander PHEV that it replaced.

For frame of references on Allstate. My mach E raised my insurance rates a little over 40 bucks ever 6 months. So in real word numbers it went from roughly 460 every 6 months to 490ish. That is including me adding a new car replacement to the policy. My previous car was a Honda Crosstour.
So that should give you a real world number for at least Texas.
I use the real numbers as that might give some people an idea of what the increase they might be eating.
Basically the rate increase was 8-10%
