If you're cutting a hole anyway, might as well make it big enough for both feet so that you can add some power Fred Flintstone style.
But that’s right where the battery is. Your electrons will drain and you’ll get those on your shoes. Not to mention the EPA fine for the electron spill.
Sad I have to say this but c’mon people, do not cut holes in your battery.
So much bad advice on this site. ?‍♂

When I floor it it’s pedal to the metal. So I don’t know what you’re talking about. ??‍♂

watch this youtube video it proves letting off pedal and pressing again does increase power.
That’s around 115 mph after starting from zero where they essentially reset one of the limiters for them to get more power.

It’s also for a GT.

I don’t think this is what the OP is talking about, but he didn’t give us much to go on, so maybe?

The GT for sure doesn’t like you keeping it floored for 20 seconds straight and will continue pulling more and more power until you let off. Just one of the multiple things that limit power.

OP has a select AWD (I think the slowest Mach E?) so totally different.

Wouldn’t it be funny if this was actually the trick to getting the fastest 1/4 mile times? I wonder if anyone tried this.

My electrons come from the local nuclear power generating station, where only the finest electrons are carefully selected and hand-crafted by nuclear artisans before being lovingly delivered to me through exclusive, highly crafted networks of conductors and transformers ?
Oh, and the prices reflect this level of craftsmanship and exclusivity ?
I bet people would pay extra for local, artisinal electrons

It is certainly possible that there is a power inrush if it’s a poorly designed control system. It could take a split second for the software to realize it should be limiting power, but that’s purely conjecture. But I won’t call OP crazy because there is no technical reason it COULDNT happen.

Source: am an EE that took a control systems class in college once a long time ago…

Oh, they do - a lot! In fact, now, they will be limited collectibles since PECO has decided to close the factory ?

Better fill the car up and save 'em, those electrons may be worth something some day

Hey now, we are faster than all the RWD only models! Our selects are quick! I will try this out next time I drive, maybe do it on the highway on ramp as a good test.

Are they? For some reason I thought the SR AWD was the slowest.

I couldn’t find the old chart that had the 0-60 of all the different variations.

Either way, it’s not the GT with the same limiters in the video.

Yeah it does 5.2 in the 0-60. All of the RWDs are around 6.0 - all of the AWDs have much more Torque from the 2nd motor. The ER have a bit more HP from the bigger battery and shave 0.4 or something off the 0-60 if AWD. - This is all pre 2023.5 with the LFP, but I think their numbers are about the same either way.

I know I have the select but try it. you will feel the car pull if you lift and push the petal again once acceleration feels like it is leveling off.

Could be in your head and how we perceive acceleration though.

Would be better to test with a draggy app to be for sure.

The G forces from smooth acceleration feels slower than when you feel a big surge of power in a short time period.

A couple examples of cars I’ve driven- Nissan GTR and an BMW M5 competition.

Both have very smooth torque curves due to the use of turbos.

They both actually feel slower than they are.

The M5 in particular is a 10 second 1/4 mile car…… but didn’t really feel like it because the power delivery is so smooth.

With my GT, it actually feels faster if I ease into the throttle vs flooring it right away. But flooring it is actually faster.

Summary- feels faster and is faster aren’t always the same

It could be perceived ??. I don't have a good place to test. But the video posted above describes what I felt while driving.
