Best defense is a good paint sealant or going full ceramic/enamel coating. You still have to clean them off but with a good sealant on the paint they should easily spray off and wipe off. A touchless car wash should get most if not all at that point or like others said keep a microfiber towel and some detail spray around.

I'm getting ppf on this car specifically for this reason, that and rock chips since the front end is one solid piece. It'll be my first car with PPF.

My MME is having constant bug splats on the front of the car. Since Ford didnt use a grill in the front every bug just goes splat instead of slipping through a grill in most cases like on a normal car. Its kind of annoying because I wash the car the and very next time I drive it, it ends up covered in more bug splats. Was just wondering if other's are seeing this problem and if anyone has any recommendations on how to mitigate this problem?

As others have recommended, the Mach E really needs to have PPF applied. The nose will not only get bugs but the plastic will get chipped from routine rocks. I have PPF with ceramic coating over it and the bugs wipe right off.

I just spent almost 2 hours working on my hood, thanks to a combo of tree sap, bugs, and various other misery. The tree sap is STILL not quite gone.

discovered there is one spec of paint chipped too, ugh. Its so small I’m probably the only one who will notice, but don’t want it to get worse. Right on the front of the hood at the lip.

had the car less than month. will be seriously considering this ppf + ceramic combo. How much does that normally run?

Be sure you're sitting down when you get quotes. Depending on how much PPF you get it can go as high as several thousand dollars. You can get ceramic starting around $500 but it can get into the thousands as well depending on the product and how many coats are applied.

In my humble opinion just pay a car detailer to put ceramic on the car. No ceramic actually lasts 10 years like their warranties claim, you can expect 1-3 years depending on if the car is in a garage and if you keep up with cleaning/detailing the car. You can get a high end ceramic or enamel coating and do it yourself for around $100-150 and it's the same they use in detail shops. That would also get you probably 2-3 applications worth of coating too.

You could also just do a paint sealant and put it on every 3-4 months and be totally fine with that too. Both the sealant and ceramic/enamel coatings are wipe on and wipe off.

You could go really crazy and do ceramic/enamel with regular paint sealant applications on top of that and the ceramic will definitely last at least 3 years.

I've mentioned in other places on here I'm partial to Ammo NYC because I think Larry deserves a shout out for everything you can learn for free on his YouTube channel. Everything I know is from him and his products are awesome. Some people are going to say you can get similar things cheaper, but reality is you'll maybe replace a bottle of something once a year, so really who cares about the extra cost and you know everything you buy is top notch.

For PPF I can say my wife's Volvo XC60 was quoted $1800 for XPel PPF and labor. That was for the bumper, hood, front fenders, and mirrors. That also included the wrap around PPF that wraps around the edges of the car parts, instead of just being cut and glued up to the edge. You really don't need to do the whole car, it's not like a rock is going to hit the side or back of your car.

I have used Turtle Wax Hybrid Solution ceramic spray coating wax ($15) , one application since new 2.5 Months ago. I have started washing with the hybrid solutions soap with warm water (3 oz, $15)

They wipe off very easily with no scrubbing. I have been very impressed. And I washed yesterday.
The soap also mitigates water spots and dries itself.

I had it at a Ford show today and my Mach E brought all the attention. Maybe it was the free sodas on Ice in the Frunk. I think I sold two for the local Ford dealer.

The infinite blue sparkles.

Search thread titles for PPF and you will find the range quoted to different owners. It depends on the brand and how much of the car you want covered (nose only, full frontal, front and rear, full). It can cost from a few hundred dollars to several thousand.
