Yep, I ran my GT PE on the raceway today - more info tomorrow, very consistent and solid and better than last year on Aug 26th... first GT / PE track launch. Best of 5 runs: 1/4 mile = 12.389 seconds @ 103.46mph. Started at 92% state of charge (SOC) - the key to better times than last year when it was 70% or less. This time, all five runs very consistent from 12.389 to 12.482, speed from 103.35-103.63 - extremely consistent. Didn't really matter between Engage or Unbridled driving modes. Beat every other vehicle that I ran against, couple Mustangs, an Audi, and Cadillac
Great times. At least a full second quicker than the best run I’ve seen for a 4X, but the same trap speed 😂. So mad at Ford.

One of my younger brothers put a 290 V8 taken out of a Javlin in one of those. Most unstable vehicle of all time!
The Javelin may have been ungainly looking, but it was a pretty decent car. The Gremlin? Ugh. 😱🐩

Edit: One of my 7th grade teachers had a Gremlin. She was hot. Her car wasn’t. 🤪🐩

I’ve had a guy and then a married couple from Australia come up and start talking to me like I’m also from down under 😂. They looked a bit surprised when my slight Texas accent kicked in. They all said they immediately felt like they were back home when they saw the Holden. I was glad to oblige haha.

Assume you had a VE SSV if it was 360HP. My VF has a few mods and sits at 465-470 now.
Yes, a VE. The ones they were importing to the States as Pontiac GTOs.

I don't understand exactly why a 4x would get better pulls than a 4 Standard. The 4 standard is lighter, does the extended battery deliver that much more power to the motors to overcome the weight?

Yes, and it’s able to sustain a higher voltage over a longer period. 😊🐩

4X = 346/428 HP/TQ vs. 4SR = 266/428. It amounts to about 3-5mph lower trap speed in the SR.

I'm confused - the cars have the same top speed, right? The GT PE got there faster, hence the second faster time. Both cars can hit top speed in less than a 1/4 mile, which is pretty amazing, really. Please clarify why you're "so mad at Ford."

Trap speed is an indicator of horsepower.

If the 4x and the GTPE have the same trap speed, it means that their “average horsepower” during a 1/4 mile run is roughly the same.

That is just plain wrong if you paid extra for the GTPE.

As far as “top speed” goes though, neither hits top speed in the 1/4 mile. The 4x tops at 113 mph and the GTPE at 124 mph.

To expand on this, that means that the GT or GT-PE putout a lot more power than the 4x for the first 5 seconds. After 5 seconds, The GT and GT-PE put out so much less power than the 4x they make the sam or less trap speed than the 4x. That is what he is mad about, along with many others. 🤔🐩

More to come... video and such in a few days in a new post of my experience with the 1 year old GT PE on the track last weekend. 4,500 miles, etc.

My takeaway: as expected the five second power limiter kicks in and an incredibly consistent speed at the 1/4 mile -only 0.28 MPH range across five runs, from 103.35 to 103.63 MPH. It's still accelerating albeit slowly with the limiter active.

How much/how long do you have to back off WOT to reset or reduce the 5 second limit? Could you floor it for 5, back off a little for 1 second, then floor it again? I wonder if it's possible to "trick' the limiter into starting over, giving you higher average access to max HP. Probably still have a drag from the gray bars along the way, but that's a different system, right?

This is great data, thanks for posting this!

It would seem that the GOAT would need to be a Premium 4X to get around this limitation.

Since you have a GTPE, have you tried a run in Unbridled Extend? Would the 5-second limit stay the same, and lead to a lower trap speed? Perhaps something else happens.
