Yes, but this recall language says nothing about replacing the HVJB, just performing a change/update to software. Ford really gets to have their cake and eat it too on this one. They didnāt have to replace a whole bunch of HVJBs at the same time, they got NTHSA off their back, and post warranty they have no obligations to the MME owner. Still not worth suing over.Recalls never expire. Ford still has parts for the Pinto gas tank recall. AMC had a recall for heater cores bursting in the Renault Alliance and as Chrysler bought AMC, they became responsible. 30 years later a local dealer sent a tech to a "collector" who has six Alliances in his field awaiting "restoration" to replace the heater cores.
What is concerning is that we have had some reports of the newer part failing. Only time will tell if the Mach-E is snake-bitten because of the design.
