I just got my car from an over month long repair and I thought that was crazy. I have enclosed what they did below. Btw, when I got my car back I could not change the radio station. It said something to the effect of "Hardware Problem". When I shut the car down and restarted it, it went back to "normal". This has been so frustrating. I have never owned a car with this many headaches in my life.:crying:

Ford must have a "goodwill" type marketing budget or something to handle situations like this, and they are REALLY dropping the ball here. I know if I were running it I would just give you a new 2024, crush your 2021 into a ball, and be done with it. It would cost more in legal fees just to answer discovery than it would to give you a new car.

Actually, they are probably spending more on the loaners by this time then it would have cost to replace your car. Ford lets dealers use some cars as loaners up to a certain amount of miles, and then they sell them at a discount. This is why they keep changing your loaner vehicles. But after 18 months they probably could have given you 3 cars for the amount of money they wrote down on just the loaners......

I suspect that the very early cars, having been built during the Covid-related supply chain shortages, have substitute (so called compatible) chipset components installed in the cars, the firmware for which soon became incompatible with updates. Jim Farley speaks of the problems they have managing software changes because Ford has to rely so much on outside suppliers they don’t/can’t control. This sounds to me like Ford is wrestling with some component supplier(s) and/or are having to write ‘custom’ software for specific cars that will simply make it all the more difficult to support those cars in the future. Nothing else in my imagination could account for holding your car this long without a resolution. This is anyway Ford’s problem, which I am assuming arises from the ‘brilliant’ manufacturing strategy popularized after 1980 to move away from vertically integrated business models.
And so I whole-heartedly agree with others commenting here: it’s time to lawyer up and force Ford to buy back their car so you can move on to a 2024/2025 MME built with all the ‘right’ parts.

If I were the Marketing director for Ford, I would panic seeing story like yours go public. Are you paying for registration and insurance on this vehicle? 18 months? Sounds unfixable. Have you approached your insurance company?

I recently paid for the Navigation for a year since the subscription expired after 3 years. Ever since I did that when I use turn by turn there is no voice on the turn by turn and the radio drops down to a lever 4 and won't go any higher. You can barely hear it. Frustrating!

I hope that Ford has something of the like. I did bring this here hoping to bring attention to something I’m otherwise feeling pretty ignored over.

Yes, paying registration and insurance. I have to have insurance to drive any loaner vehicle. I posted this hoping it might attract some sort of attention. I know in the past Ford reps monitor these boards.

I was in your exact position. I had a 2021 MME First Edition. I was lucky that there was a class action lawsuit at the time that I read in a magazine. I became a named plaintive for the BRICK EFFECT. The case was dismissed but Ford bought my car back. The buy back was awful with Ford. I love them and even decided to buy a 2023 MME GT. The process was horrid and the promises they told me were crap. In the end I had to pay $153.15 to get out of my car and I was glad to do it.

as every said find a lemon law attorney. The cost to you is ZERO. They get paid by Ford. I will tell you that the process with an attorney can take up to 3 years. What sucks is that on you ford pass app as well as ford has access 24/7 to EVERYTHING going on with your car but legally they do not have to use it because it goes back to the very first time that you took it into the dealer. What Ford WANTS you to do is trade it in except the value is crap. Like a cell phone once the newer version comes out the old one is worthless. My wife also had a 2021 premium and we just traded it in for a 2024 MME RALLEY. We got $15,000 for the car.

contact a lemon law attorney but understand it will take a VERY long time. I was lucky. The lawsuit got mine done in 6 months only because I had to order my GT otherwise it would have been done in 1 month.

@Gimme_my_MME is right. Something isn’t adding up here. @Papa T, have you seen your Mach-e lately? Do you have paperwork on what they’ve done?
I TOTALLY agree that something doesn’t add up. Yes, I have and can see my Mach E on a fairly regular basis. I can also tell it is being moved from time to time.

i do not have any paperwork on what has been performed.

These responses have been helpful. I’ve felt a little helpless in the matter. I personally read my state’s lemon law to see what kind of wrinkle might be there for me. I was not aware until responses in this thread that there are federal statutes that could apply as well. I have access to good legal representation but not too familiar with this area of law. I have begun to reach out though to find an attorney who practices in this area.

Yep, you kind of summed up my feelings. I still love this car. As I said, I have now driven many of the vehicles in Ford’s fleet. The Mach E is still by far my favorite drive and experience.

I also agree that my experience with Ford has been “horrid” as well. I think that’s my main reason for even posting. I would like for as many people as possible to hear how they are treating someone who has been a good customer.
