The car so far is great overall. My better half and I am are pretty loyal Ford clients as former owners of 2 Taurus, 1 Flex, 2 LS, 1 Probe and 1 Escort.
I was originally going to get an Edge but my Grabber Blue select model LFP was in stock at Milton Ford and the owner made me an offer too good to refuse.
I installed a very sturdy Flo home charger, a Nacs level 2 and A2Z Nacs level 3 adapter and all work very well after a few tries. My official Nacs adapter is still on order.
I got a Thule roof rack from Eastgate Ford and have mounted my kayak on it with no issues other than reduced range. I put my bike(s) in the back with the seats down and have not plans to install a hatch, hitch or hitch mounted bike rack. I also got an excellent floor mat from EastGate Ford and rear seat back covers off Amazon.
Level 1 and 2 charging has been very easy and cost effective but I am a little disappointed with the cost of and reliability of level 3 charging.
I set up direct billing with Tesla, IVY, Shell, Electrify Canada, Flo, CircleK/Couche Tard, Petro Canada and On the Run. My cost per KW has varied from as low as $ .31 to as high as $ .74 so from here on in I will only use fast chargers under $ .49 per KW unless I am stuck and then will end up at Tesla or Electrify Canada. I will only go to IYY if bored and looking for some drama.
I also did a few charges on Circuit Electric through Ford Blue Oval charge network. But after a small and unresolved billing issue I will stick to working directly with the charging providers. Some of the apps don't work on the other chargers but they often have a tap and pay by credit card option.
BlueCruise 1.2 and 1.3 seems to work pretty well under ideal conditions....but I live in Canada...
The lane bias on the right side is scary and if you drive in the right lane the car frequently tries to exit even though the navigation says to stay on the highway. BlueCruise and adaptive cruises control both reduce their speed in half when sensing the speed limit of over/under passes. It did not work at at all in heavy rain between Quebec City and Kingston and gave a front camera/sensor blocked error at one point.
I would consider renewing BlueCruise on a montly basis for road trips if I could pay with Ford pass rewards and they were to offer some sort of 50% off promotion. But they don't seem to make it very easy to use these points as many dealers and the Ford apps don't accept them to purchase connected services.
In summary,
Ford seems to make really good hardware but all of their software is in need of some refinement to compete with my cell phone.
Now if I could only find a decent Android phone mount...
Tesla charging while reliable, is overpriced with short cables, tight parking.
If Tesla was to offer dedicated Ford only stalls with cables on the left side and better pricing I would defintely use them.
But I am not one to pay first class prices for second class access.
