Yep 30 days in MO then another 3 weeks in KS before finally arriving in Denver. Then 1 day to Colorado Springs. I think my total in transit was around 60 days.

I am noticing a theme here too. The people in this thread and the linked thread that are experiencing the long delay all seem to be out west: CO, NV, CA, HI. MIght be a regional thing tied to a specific rail carrier to go outbound from KC.
There are two different railroads covering deliveries to those states or their transshipment point.

taking months to move a car across the country is ridiculous. Given the option, I think I'd pay an extra couple hundred bucks to have my car delivered to my dealer within a week of assembly... on a TRUCK.
It's actually more fuel efficient and can save significant time over traditional transports. In the before times when JIT production was working smoothly, there was a continuous flow of cars through the system. Covid and parts shortages have completely screwed that up at the moment.

If your car is the only MME going to your dealer, how do you think a truck is going to get it from Mexico to the dealer? They're only shipping MMEs from the plant in Mexico. All those other MMEs on the truck might have to be delivered before yours. There's also the hours of service for truckers. The train from Mexico can switch crews and continue on its way. Most car carriers only use a single driver and have to stop for mandated rest periods.

Just checked today and my GT which was completed on Oct 20 was last reported in Laredo TX. Dealer has 4 MMEs coming in the shipment.

The thing about car carriers is that they can go to more than one dealer in a trip.

I am reasonably confident that out of the ~1000 or so cars produced each week there are more than 6 (one carrier load) going to a city of 2M plus. I am even more confident that there is more than 6 going there every two weeks.

That is a lot different than the 3+ month transit times the rail roads are demonstrating.

Mine's been there since early August. Then they damaged it and it's taken 2+ months to fix... still in KC. Going great.

My Texas bound GT PE was built 9/14 and arrived in Missouri 9/27. A month ago. Now sitting 800 miles from the dealer which BTW is 1 mile off the rail line from Lecheria Mexico going thru Texas to the old Mo airport Ramp 6. Literally a former airport ramp / Tarmac.

What puzzles me is Ford’s lack of information, tracking, and their apparent financial ignorance. I worked 40 years at a (one time) Fortune 10 company. We did everything in our authority to capitalize / monetize investments as quickly as legally possible. I find it very hard to understand the lack of fiduciary responsibility at Ford to have thousands of built vehicles sitting for months on the books instead of creating better logistics operations to get the product in customers hands and cash in the bank. I don’t know for sure, maybe someone knowledgeable on here can speak to when the vehicle is no longer the manufacturers and becomes the dealerships inventory. Is this the infamous invoice date we see on the window sticker? Does some other Ford held company take ownership at invoicing date so the manufacturer could give a shit about when customers get their vehicle because those metrics show up on someone else’s red yellow green report and not manufacturing? Sorry. Venting. I went thru this same period of frustration very recently with a Lightning.

As I understand it, you (or we if you prefer) as a customer are not even close to the first owner of your new car. Ford sold that car long before it arrived in Kansas City. I’m

Regarding shipping. If you haven’t been following the news, the two unions representing the workers who maintain the tracks or staff the trains on class 1 railroads have both rejected the settlement brokered about 6 weeks ago. The issue was and still is the lack of time off, particularly sick leave. The workers have been working without a contract for over 3 years now. The next step is a strike in late November or early December unless Congress imposes a settlement (and that can have a steep price) or a negotiated settlement happens.

There is an already serious staffing shortage at the railroads and it’s not getting better as pay is not exceptional and work rules are rather poor. There’s also a decade plus long shortage of autoracks, the rail cars that carry automobiles. Couple this with labor shortages at trucking companies (drivers are leaving those jobs in droves), particularly for long haul drivers, and you have a huge logistical nightmare. Unfortunately, there’s no magical bit of rhetoric that will fix this problem or get your Mach-es to your dealer and door any faster.

I am just curious to see if anyone else here has their 2022 Mach E stuck at the rail yard in Missouri. My 2022 has been sitting in this rail yard since 10/11, and I just received notification from Ford that they have bumped my delivery date from what was 10/24 to 11/29. What was interesting was the dealer could not even locate the car just that it last pinged in Missouri 10/11, but since Ford fired their representative that could check on these items they were in the dark. One call to 1-800 FORD and I find out that it was for sure pushed back due to unforeseen circumstances. Is there another recall coming? Many folks have waited patiently, but I confess that I put my eggs in this basket and have been too long without a vehicle. I may have to throw in the towel and put my GT back in the bucket for someone in Vegas once that puppy finally lands around Christmas I'm sure. If anyone else has insight into what's happening in that rail yard, maybe I can give some credence to my salesman that said the car will land in Vegas any day now.
Yes, I’m stuck at ramp 6R too. Supposed to be here this week, delivery date hasn’t changed. Supposed to be in Salt Lake City by Monday…

But, others in the same 9/12 build week are getting deliveries. Texas vehicles could have been staged on the same rail car leaving the Lecheria factory and dropped somewhere along the 600 miles of tracks in Texas between the Rio Grande and Red River. A 2nd grader with a Lionel train set and Legos could handle those logistics and mental gymnastics. Ford needs to find a way. When I was a kid the ford “logo” was a lightbulb with the saying, “Ford has a better idea”. I guess they don’t anymore. Ps. I currently own 6 Fords plus a Ford tractor, and Ford implements (those are the things the tractor pulls). I’ve owned dozens of Fords, but…

Stuck there for 21 days now, a bit concerned about how long this will take. Honesty ford just needs to throw in the towel and ship them via convoy at this point with this many people waiting.

Yes - you are not alone and check some of the build week group threads for the large crowd that have received the delivery delay e-mail. Most are sitting in Kansas. My original delivery window started 10/14. Now I'm 11/15 - 11/21 stuck at ramp 6R. Your note about the person who can check being fired has me curious....Gaudin?
Sorry for my delayed response. Not quite Gaudin, Ford Country.
