If you call the BEV team, they're supposed to get the local dealership service dept to authorize a rental through e.g., Enterprise, if there are no loaners available. In my case Ford authorized the expense but the local dealership refused to follow through because Ford corporate had accumulated un-reimbursed expenses and I got caught in the middle. But try the BEV team (800) 392-3673? Good luck ?
This is not your fault and is 100% on the dealer, this is a very big gauge of how crappy this dealer is.

If the dealer didn't get rentals approved means they didn't hop through the right channels to get it approved or had very bad reviewing along side big oops with corp and corp will basically negotiate with the dealers when they F up any out standing re-reimbursements. Dealers love to blame the manufactures because often people don't understand the in-between, either way this is the dealers fault not yours.

I would demand the BEV team find you a different dealer and a rental at this point and then also blow up the ford 1800 number as thats unacceptable.

If none of that gets you anywhere, talking about lemon law will sometimes get things moving as that means Ford will have to buy it back but coming out the gate to early on that can also cripple communications with corp, so I'd try and play ball for as long as you can, and make sure your checking all the boxes for your states lemon law requirements, good luck.

I once received a "Powertrain Malfunction" in the garage just by attempting to shift from P to R without my foot on the brake. It was an issue in the gear shift software module. OP are you sure that all modules in your car are up to date? I would post your VIN in the thread below and ask someone to check your VIN for updates. If you need updates then insist your dealer install them. I would even ask for a screen shot that proves they installed all of them because many dealers will tell you that you are "up to date" but are lying to you to get you out of the shop.

Not true. My VW ID.4 shut down in the middle of the road back in 2021 and there were no error codes found at my dealership. Fasts forward years later and VW has discovered various issues that can cause ID.4 to lose HV power when driving. Error codes imply some sort of known failure condition.
And my point is you could prove that to be true or not or identify exactly what the condition is at the moment of the failure by just plugging in a universally available OBD reader. There's no need to tow it to a dealer and deal (no pun intended) with their run around.

There may not actually be codes (I highly doubt it), but you can do it in real time in the exact condition you're experiencing the issue.

To (hopefully) talk some of you low mileage owners off the ledge: I have a 2022 AWD Premium ER built in April 2022 (pre updated HVBJB). Just this week I hit 20,000 miles. No issues to date. Also, while the weather was in the 80's, and for the first time really, I decided to push the car. I was thinking, "Well, if ever you are going to see SSN, now is the time" but Sheeba did great. Of course now I'm also thinking, "Dumbass, you are going to need new tires now". ?

It is entirely possible that your car could have an issue like the OP's. But please keep in mind, in the grand scheme of the thousands of Mach-E's sold and on the road since 2021, the number of owners with issues (represented in this forum) is a very small percentage.

It sucks beyond measure to be one of the afflicted and the OP has all of my sympathy. I truly hope Ford and the dealerships make things right. The MME is really quite a good car (when it is behaving itself).

I see your frustration, i would threaten the lemon law thing....but really for what probably is a VERY simple repair, no reason to have to start all over with a new car. Seems like you just need a good engineer to look at it and find the issue.

No error codes on the VIN, no msgs in fordpass, confirmed by the service department. Nothing to fix. My photograph is the only evidence it happened aside from the nice folks who checked on me. It started up completely normal on the 6-7th try about 15 mins later, so as far I as know I have a car that will stop while in motion for no reason whatsoever.
This has happened to me twice now in the last 1000 miles. As, apart from the recall HV problem, this is a recent event within my 18000 miles I was to say somewhat perturbed. The only thing I can think of is that in each case Ford had done an over the air software update. Something of a rare occurrence in the UK. The only other software updates had been performed at the dealership. Within two days the car just stopped and wouldn’t start for 15 to 20 minutes. No error messages.

If the failure only occurred upon starting up and worse case scenario is I'm stranded somewhere I'd feel differently but the stopping while in motion is just not something a car should do.
