This is not your fault and is 100% on the dealer, this is a very big gauge of how crappy this dealer is.If you call the BEV team, they're supposed to get the local dealership service dept to authorize a rental through e.g., Enterprise, if there are no loaners available. In my case Ford authorized the expense but the local dealership refused to follow through because Ford corporate had accumulated un-reimbursed expenses and I got caught in the middle. But try the BEV team (800) 392-3673? Good luck ?
If the dealer didn't get rentals approved means they didn't hop through the right channels to get it approved or had very bad reviewing along side big oops with corp and corp will basically negotiate with the dealers when they F up any out standing re-reimbursements. Dealers love to blame the manufactures because often people don't understand the in-between, either way this is the dealers fault not yours.
I would demand the BEV team find you a different dealer and a rental at this point and then also blow up the ford 1800 number as thats unacceptable.
If none of that gets you anywhere, talking about lemon law will sometimes get things moving as that means Ford will have to buy it back but coming out the gate to early on that can also cripple communications with corp, so I'd try and play ball for as long as you can, and make sure your checking all the boxes for your states lemon law requirements, good luck.
