I've read a handful of members/owners who have sold their first Mach-E for various reasons, whether it be an upgrade to a different trim or model year, or due to some dissatisfaction with the Mach-E. Regardless of the reason, I'd like a centralized place where active members can report some data for their trade-in or sale, so other members can have a starting point should they be in a similar position.

It'll also be a great mechanism to capture market data. After entries start to come in, I can visualize the data if members would be interested. Would be cool to see resale market trends for the Mach-E.

Please post in the following format:
Year Trim (Select, Premium, GT, GTPE) Drivetrain (AWD or RWD) Battery (ER or SR) Color
Date of Sale
Nearest Metro City
Price Obtained
Sale Type (Dealer Trade-in, Dealer Upgrade, Private Party, Sold to service [Carlotz, CarMax, Carvana, Vroom, etc.])

Example:
2021 Premium RWD ER Space White
01/01/2022
Washington D.C.
$50,000
Dealer Upgrade to GTPE

Please keep this thread to reporting resale data ONLY.

I guess I'm wondering how this is helpful. If a vehicle is traded in, it fetches a lower price than a private sale or a sale to Carvana. Trade-ins are impacted by several factors - some states provide a tax credit against the value when you're making a purchase, ease vs. a private sale, and of course laziness.

When selling privately, taxes can again have an impact, because a few states allow some credit if accomplished in a limited period.

One can pretty easily find values on sites like Auto Trader, Carvana, etc.

I realized I forgot to include sale type in my formatting and example.

The ultimate goal here is to have a thread for centralized data reporting. This allows current owners who will be trading-in, selling, upgrading - whatever - to have a better understanding of values within a region, for a particular time.

Real scenario: I'm in the market to sell my 2021 Mach-E because I'm upgrading to a 2022. Let's say I live in a region lacking larger metropolitan cities and don't have the best trade-in values. Having a thread with reported data allows me to see that John Smith sold his 2021 Premium to a CarMax 4 hours away for $6,000 more than what I'm getting at my local Carmax Store. Now, I can contact John Smith and ask for details on which store he used, etc.

The same scenario applies to anyone trading into dealers, or using buying services. From my initial research, selling to Carlotz varies tremendously by region. I was getting offers around $52-54k for the two locations in VA, but as soon as I go to a MD location, the value was up to $58k.

Treat this as P2P data reporting, rather than having to sift through data reporting site, changing zip codes to see data you want to see. It's a helpful resource for current owners and members.

EDIT: You'd also be surprised that a trade-in fetches a lower price. Local dealers in Northern VA are paying way more then Carvana and Carmax. No one typically offers as much as Vroom until you walk in with an offer. Heck, we have a local VW dealership that keeps over 30 Teslas on the lot. Even they offered more for the Mach-E than Carvana and Carmax.

This could possibly help, but the tricky part is that they all use a central system. So if you go to CarMax and get a quote and then go to another that someone said gave them more, they'll find your VIN in the system. Unless they don't do this, which would be odd.

From my experience Q4 last year, if you do an online appraisal and let it expire, the store can't look up your appraisal code. They process it as a new appraisal, where a new appraisal ID is generated and applied.

I was considering trading in my 2021 select awd for a 2022 gt, dealers wants 10k over sticker price,
I asked whats the extra 10k for, they say market demand or is it greed, quess I will have to wait for the cadillac or genesis
