I own a 2021 Mach-E GT PE and have a question about the traffic information subscription.

When I went to transfer over my SiriusXM music lifetime subscription to this new vehicle, I was told by the SiriusXM staff that my traffic subscription was not handled by them and that it had a manufacturer's 5 year trial.

Is this true? If so, who handles the traffic portion of the entertainment/navigation system ?

Connected Navigation in your ford.com/connectedservices. Ford uses Garmin navigation which uses highway sensors, data from cities, and cameras to provide us the traffic info

I believe its a 3 year trial

Go to ford.com/connectedservices and login and it should show you what your expiration date is on "Connected Built-in Navigation"

Interesting. I didn't know that.
However it works......it is scary accurate.
Somehow it knows which lanes have heavy traffic and which lanes are lighter or free flowing. It is pretty close too. It even knows when there are temporary road closures. In the first photo below I looked down and saw the purple road and wondered what that was about. Then the cross traffic cleared and I saw the "ROAD CLOSED" sign. It is amazing how good that system is.

The best part is the Ford Nav uses this info to route me to my destination. It will avoid congested areas due to traffic accidents but allow me to use them during rush hour (since I have HOV lanes enabled). Today it routed me down a street that I wouldn't normally take to get to the freeway because the onramp was closed. I used to question the nav when stuff like that first happened but now I've learned to trust it because it knows better than me sometimes.

The nav is pretty awesome. Yesterday it selected the specific entrance to the shopping center that I should use to get to the specific suite that I was looking for. Didn't expect that but it was super cool! ?

98 degrees? Damn.
Yep. Getting a little warm. Starting to affect my GOM now.
When we get deep into summer, I will be lucky to see 270 in the mornings. It's about a 10% range penalty when temps are in triple digits around the clock. Not bad actually....

I love that Ford Nav in the Mach E 100%.
It’s Live Traffic is near perfect when it comes to recalculate routes based on road closures, heavy traffic etc. And the small amount of time it takes for computing when you set a destination or it does recalculation because of heavy traffic or something is pretty sick too. I don’t think it’s any worse than the Mercedes Nav I know very well.
Only thing that could be improved is the selection of charging stations. But that comes with a lot of manufacturers and is not a issue exclusive to Ford.
But replacing a charger is pretty easy in the newest Nav Version. So not that big of a deal.
My Dads Mercedes EV for example, doesn’t let you change the selected chargers at all.
End of story: I use the Ford Nav 99% of time and do only pre Check with ABRP before longer Trips to see if there are my preferred charging providers along the route.
To me (on European Roads) I haven’t found anything yet the Apple or Google Maps does better when comparing it with Fords Live Traffic enabled.

Edit: I don’t know what it’s like in the US. In Germany the Live-Traffic Subscription is included for 5 years.
