Mach-E vs. 2025 Kia EV6

Aah, inflation. Old, boring news. We’re past that now. Already landed gently, taxiing to the gate, and the winners in first class (USA from all walks of life) are sipping on chilled Cristal.

I’m, of course, joking. But you don’t need to look very far to appreciate how well the US economy is doing both in absolute and relative terms.

Just because those of us who make good money are fine doesn't mean that the cost of living skyrocketing isn't "a problem". I remember when making even lower

6 figures was pretty comfortable.

My car has about a 250mi range on my daily commute. In the winter it drops to 180 though, but I haven't found that to be an issue.

It's how it goes. This is a thread about my car So I posts in it. The looks do take some accommodating, but mainly I bought it for the engineering. Nothing out there comes close under $100K. Anyway, I'm going to rack out. Enjoy whatever you've planned for today, as well.

I was contemplating either an EV6 or MachE GT but comparison seems as futile as the old Ford VS Chevy, it's whatever turns you on. Both have their pluses and minuses. I think waiting has pushed me to the Ioniq5 N to go along with my ICE toy. it's a great time for auto enthusiasts.

I was contemplating either an EV6 or MachE GT but comparison seems as futile as the old Ford VS Chevy, it's whatever turns you on. Both have their pluses and minuses. I think waiting has pushed me to the Ioniq5 N to go along with my ICE toy. it's a great time for auto enthusiasts.

Setting style aside, the Mach E doesn't make sense except as a short range commuter car. It cannot sustain power for more than 5 seconds. It fast charges significantly slower than eGMP cars. Basically anything "EV" about it is very second rate. Its not "Ford vs GM", it's more like Porsche vs Daewoo, when you compare the Mach and Ev6 GTs. Not even in the same leage. My car runs about 143mph in the half mile (11.4@120 in the quarter...my numbers, not some magazine). The Ford would literally melt its guts trying to do that, if its low rpm motors didn't explode first. To top it off, they vastly underrated its efficiency. It will pull well over 200 miles daily commute in GT mode. Slap it in normal or eco, 250+. On performance tires, not LRR. Track times for the Mach E GTPP are worse than the 320hp ev6s due to the poor thermal management of the Ford product. Its a rats nest of fail. This isn't opinion, its engineering fact. The car sucks. Would you buy a Camaro instead of a Mustang if the crank shaft bent if you kept it over 5000rpm for more than 5 seconds? NOONE WOULD. The car lifterally would never even be sold if the powertrain was that trash.

The HI5N is peak performance until you get to Taycans. Neither the HI5N nor Taycan are viable for me because they shifted too far towards car vs suv. The ground clearance just isnt sufficient. However, if you live in the city, the HI5N mechanically is just absolutely dominant in the EV realm until $100k.

Ford has better interior and exterior styling, better range on the extended, better ui IMHO, better pricing now.

Kia has better charging, better warranty, slightly faster 0-60. Kia seems to be dealing with 12v battery issues. There are a lot of complaints about dying 12v batteries on all their forums.

Insults are fine, but if you cannot back them with contrary data, you come off as an ignorant fanboy.

Kia and Hyundai 12v battery issues stem from ICCU issues. Specifically, the original software is faulty. An update has come out to prevent issues and Kia and Hyundai are replacing any damaged units for free and then updating software to prevent recurrent issue.

Fords issues in the Mach E are physical and due to desgin. Only a gen 2, if you will, will fix this.

Ive owned all sorts of stuff. The Koreans have really impressed me with their fit and finish and assembly quality. Its right up there with my Japanese Toyota and Mazda products.

The EV6 is a great car on paper, but it's a truly ugly thing IMHO. The rear in particular is laughably fugly.
