I've had my Mach-e Premium for 3 weeks. As I've been testing all functions I've run across an issue with the cruise control set speed toggle button. To manually increase speed using the set speed button you push it forward: tap it forward to increase speed incrementally; press and hold to continuously increase speed until the switch is released. When I press my switch forward for continuous speed increase, the car will continue to speed up even after releasing the switch until I hit the brake. Does it every time.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks!

That's because you think it's an accelerator, when it is actually setting a speed for the car to reach. It will quickly climb, much faster than the car can accelerate, and the speed it will reach is shown in the display.

Start the car and play with it while in park and you will see.

When changing the cruise control setpoint significantly, most cars will accelerate hard to get to that setpoint and overshoot. Try it again and see if the car keeps accelerating hard after reaching the set speed or let's off and slowly comes back down.

Newer fords will increase set speed 5 mph at a time if you hold the button, in older fords you held the button down till you got to the speed you wanted it set at.

When you turn on cruise, two speeds are shown. Set speed, in green, if I recall, and actual in white. If you hold the "increase" button the set speed will go up quickly. Once you let go the car will continue to accelerate until it gets to whatever speed you set.

Thanks for the input, everyone. However, what I'm experiencing is none of the above. Mine won't stop accelerating until I hit the brakes.

You’re saying it continues to accelerate past the set speed in green?

Hi there! Can you send us a PM with your VIN and Ford dealership information? I’d be happy to look into this on my end.

Thank you again, everyone. It turns out the fault is not with the car: the owners manual is vague. I just returned from my dealership where they explained that if you press and hold the speed set switch, the speed will increase by pre-set increments, the readout of which is in the upper right corner of the instrument panel. The owners manual implies that if you press and hold that switch, the speed will be set to the speed at which you release the switch--not exactly accurate. See attached.

You took it to the dealer for this? I'm actually surprised they knew the answer though

You are exactly correct, I've come to find out. Thank you. I wish the owners manual was that succinct!
