Yes, this happened with us, I work from home 3 days, and the 2 days in office I drive and park and don't go anywhere. She is in and out driving all over all day so the ev is good for her and she admits the suv cargo beats her Challenger GT. I like the GT so works fine for us. MME is default family car except long trips then Ram 1500 is pulled out.

Does anyone else fight with their spouse over who gets to drive the MME?!? We bought my wife a Subaru Accent over the summer, a car she had wanted for a while. She then proceeded to make fun of me for my MME obsession while I waited for a December delivery. NOW she drives the MME anytime she can and asks to swap cars whenever she has a longer drive to “save gas.” I didn’t think she would have any interest in the car and now she’s the one who is obsessed ?.

Even worse, I ordered my GTPE with the intention of giving my wife my 6 month old 90K Audi e-tron since she's had a lot of Audi's in the past and was coming out of a Porsche Macan. I even ordered it without the glass roof since I don't like sunroofs of any kind (and she loves sunroofs) We'll all the sudden she said she didn't like the Audi and hasn't let her hands off the Mach-e. She even gets pissed if I try to drive it. She has never been this way with any car she has had. I am looking at the Audi GT, this might get her to give back my MME.

As a loving man you should thrilled at her excitement in driving the MME. I introduced my wife to the car cruise scene soon after we were married in 1979.

I introduced my wife to the cruise scene in 1979 and we were both starting our careers, saving for a home and looking to start a family. We drove used cars to save, had a daughter in year three and bought a new home the following year. We still loved the car cruises. College saving was next and are used cars were ok for now. Fast forward to our daughters graduation, her favorite car upon graduation a 2012 challenger srt8 392.
We still drove our used cars. 2 grand Kids later, retired with 2 cars we finally bought new a 2006 and 2011. And yes we still have them. My wife ordered her dream ev muscle car 2021 GTPE. I was so excited that teaching about muscle cars paid off. Now at 75 it's my turn and the ev muscle from Dodge is around the corner. Our legacy to our daughter will be 2 really hot ev muscle cars. Time is on your side when your young to do what we waited so long to achieve. Be so thankful your wife is excited about this car. You will get your turn down the road. Good luck.

We took deliver of my wife's MME in December (February order), and she really likes it. She can drive my Wrangler 4xe, but the MME will always be her choice. At 75, it's taken her a week or two to get used to the tech. I've gotta' show her tomorrow how to find the frunk and rear hatch buttons in 4.1.2. The downer is that earlier this week, a woman with Alzheimer's backed into her in the church parking lot and put a $2700 ding in the front passenger door!

Nope. My wife doesn't like to drive my car. At first she was intimidated. Now she isn't, but she still prefers her ICE.
My g/f just likes to drive her crew cab 4x4 truck.

Our solution was to get an F-150 Lightning. Now she gets the Mach-E and I get the truck. I still prefer the maneuverability of the MME since we live in the city, but the truck is much more comfortable.

Julie loves riding in it, but only likes driving it. It's actually the biggest vehicle either of us has ever owned, and sometimes it feels that way when driving...especially with the big hood. She has even nicknamed it "Big Red". But the "EV-ness"...she loves. We only have (and need) one car right now, but if we go back to two, the next one will be a smaller EV for her.

My wife is scared of driving the MME. she says it’s too touchy from an accelerator / braking perspective, even in whisper mode and she has a hard time understanding where the car is actually at given the long hood. But she really wanted to drive it to save on gas and because EVs are just a better driving / in-cabin experience (she’s always liked riding in it).

We got her and ID.4 recently and she really likes it. She says it’s more like a “regular car” to drive in that the accelerator and brake are less touchy, but likes that it still has that EV smooth acceleration. Other things she likes is that the cabin noise level is even better than the MME, it has more storage space for the baby stroller and shopping, it has a super tight turning radius and the short hood makes it a lot easier to navigate.

Anyway, I prefer my car and she prefers hers.

We recently sold the MME and just picked up a new Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV which my Wife drove home from Miami which is about 200 miles from where we live. I haven’t even driven it yet but she said it feels a lot bigger than the MME! We ended up going from HEV to BEV and now PHEV!!!

Different story here. My wife hates the MME due to the rough ride. Luckily she drives a PHEV, so we still keep our gas use to a minimum.

I'm just the reverse. We bought the car for my wife. I thought is was "OK".
I now drive it whenever I get the chance.
Fun to drive and I like the tech challenge of all the new electronics.

My daily driver is a 6 speed manual, and it is sportier, but I still go for the MME when I can.

No, I save well over $300/month in gas so the S.O. is happy with me laying down the 25K+ miles a year in the MME.
