I already know the answer to this:
"Don't use the factory Navigation"

Now that that's out of the way, anyone find a creative way to get the nav to recognize Tesla chargers as charge stations? You can add more than 6 stops if the car sees the extra stops as chargers since it adds them in addition to your waypoints.

And Ford: if you're reading this, please add Tesla chargers or give me more than 6 stops in the nav. Now that I've typed all this, I guess this really is just a rant more than anything else. Thanks for reading!

Try a non-Tesla DC station near a Tesla Supercharger. The battery conditioning and thus the charging speed will be as if Ford NAV saw the Tesla station.

Battery conditioning is pretty much a non-issue this time of year.

You could save those stops as favorites. Then just navigate to them one by one. So go from home to stop #1. While charging at #1 then pull up favorite #2 in the nav and set it as the next destination. Rinse and repeat

I'm surprised they haven't updated onboard nav to recognize the tesla chargers we can use

Those Tesla stations are already saved favorites, and in the end I just split them into a "Trip Day 1" and "Trip Day 2" so with that method I get 12 stops. The Tesla stations are supposed to be added this year, but who knows when. I like the destinations set near the Tesla stations, that's definitely something I'll do in the winter.

The car's Public Charging app has a filter for not showing stations requiring an adapter. However, flicking the button back and forth does not show my local Tesla station. The FordPass app has the same filter. Flicking it does show the local Tesla station. Some one is not following through.

...and at other times it is an issue.
We know battery warming happens in winter, in summer it would be interesting to know if the Mach-E attempts to precondition the big battery prior to a charger stop by cooling. I think the answer is currently NO. And, perhaps partly because in the markets the MME is sold, cold temperatures have a far bigger impact on performance than hot.

I would say that since the preconditioning is based on the battery's temperature, if the battery is too hot (the car's been sitting in 105+ heat all day in an outdoor parking lot) and you're navigating to a DCFC, the car will precondition the battery by cooling it. Any of our AZ, NM, TX, desert of SoCal members want to chime in? ??

I think someone mentioned that as soon as you turn ON the Mach-E it would cool an overly warm battery so by the time you were on your roadtrip it would not be hot anymore. Guess the test would require driving in Dubai with a scanner attached to your OBD port as you get within 20 miles of the next charger? :)

I found out while planning my recent vacation that Google Maps has a 10 destination limit.

And, since on many vehicles Ford broke preconditioning with an update, it's still irrelevant...

Ummm... that reads like a good example of a personal judgment, also recognizable as a personal opinion.
