May production?

So it’s official, folks are getting May production dates. I’m trying not to be salty, but some order dates were between 2/2022-3/2022. WTH!!!??? Seeing the unfairness of scheduling is getting disheartening for me. I was excited about this car, but now I’m feeling disappointed and letdown.

Yes, it seems so arbitrary. (My attention is drawn to the apparent disparity between dealer allocations, even within ZEV States.) Anyway, I take some hope in the announcement for 11 April scheduling: retail orders, assuming it means no dealer orders or European orders to compete with, but perhaps it's only the beginning of June build dates.

I think you are using the order tracker on here as a data point. I’d caution you against putting to much stock in that. The data is not a sufficient sample size, and it is biased because it’s a self selecting sample.

If you check out the posts on how the allocation process works, it’s all based on available parts. It kinda makes sense for a dealership to respond to a question like, “how long will this take?” With an answer like this, because it’s the type of data they have access to.

If I check out the Mach E’s that are listed on local dealership sites, and overwhelming majority of them are Standard Range. The only cars I see listed with Extended Range are custom orders. These numbers do make sense with the data I can see.

I don’t. I think it’s the start of May? I don’t know. Folks are now reporting build dates of 5/9 and 5/16 so I don’t really think there will be a planned shutdown. They don’t seem to be making any notable changes for Job 2 (the Active Park Assist change impacted some Job 1 cars too).

Just what is the difference between job 1 vs job 2 at this point? If there is build differences I thought they were talking about making production changes more like Tesla and tweaking/changing builds mid-production cycle rather than traditional model year changes. Changes like Parking break removal become the norm?

I am not in the group, my order date was 12/24/2021, #4639, Prem, AWD, SR, Ice Blue and looking at the chart the numbers were all around me. However I spoke with Ford last week and they stated I should receive a prod date within the next 2 wks. We'll see.

I didn't, that was a Dealer order # provided by Ford. I don't think it relates to the above chart, but I provided it just the same. It is the only thing I have thus far, so I hang my hopes on it.
