First of all, thanks to this community. I've been enjoying reading the posts while I patiently await the arrival of my MME FE.

Last week I did the unthinkable. I was near the dealer selected to deliver my MME so I dropped in just to see what they knew. Up until then, all of my interaction had been through Ford.com exclusively. As expected, the information was not really helpful, but hey it's nice to put a face to a name once in a while. Mine unfortunately is a face he likely won't forget after he cold called me today (on my cell phone which I never provided no less) to tell me, "Great News, your MME will be here in Mid Feb!!"

It's at this point that you should know the back story. I reserved my MME FE on launch day, committed an order on 6/27/20 before the site was officially live and have a reservation/order number between 7,000 and 8,000. I'm sure he was shocked at my reply, almost as much as I was that he thought Mid-February was good news for an FE!! Anybody else hearing anything about FE's not making this year?

I would have told that guy to screw off and that he better educate himself before spewing garbage!

Maybe he wasn't differentiating between it being an FE vs a Premium? I hope. And was just working off generic info?

Lol that would put the premiums to march. I wonder where he got that info.

Anything can happen, but I'd put a little money on that NOT happening.

I posted this in another thread, and it may not be all that helpful, but it seems relevant to your question so I'll repost a quote from an unsolicited note my salesperson sent me last week.

"I wanted to update you on the status of the new Mach-E, Ford is going to start production on all ordered vehicles at the end of November with a target of a late December, early January delivery date."

Since I didn't ask him for an update, my assumption is communication from Ford prompted him to write. I doubt he got up one morning and decided to make up an update.

The problem is for FE's it's ambiguous. Worst and best cases: Worst case is Ford expects full scale production to start at the end of November -- let's say Premiums or even Selects alongside First Editions -- with deliveries beginning at the end of December or early January. Best case is Ford expects production of all ordered vehicles -- meaning Premiums and Selects -- at the end of November after the First Editions are finished. In the worst case mid-February seems about right. In the best case very late. I didn't ask him which of these scenario he was talking about -- I have a Premium with a low number so not much difference for me -- and he may not know.

However, note that if you get your Mach-E in December or January you will have it by mid-February. ;)

Replace "production" with "OKTB given", and he's got that basically right. Production has already started. But they're expected to pile up on the lots at the plant until OK To Buy is approved late Nov.

For all practical purposes, a distinction without a difference I suppose. Just easier to use the word "production" with customers rather than trying to explain what OKTB means.

Yes, production for FCTP and executive cars has started. Standard customer cars coming soon.

Curious - does 'OKTB' refer to a number of vehicles ready to go, or that there is a quality standard that has been achieved - like a certificate of occupancy for a new home?

That is not true. FEs are the very first to be produced. Those should be out by Nov 1st week.
Even if it gets delayed, Ford will try to deliver them before holidays as they want to show off this vehicle on roads before holidays.

The latter. They pull random vehicles off the lot as samples to check out. Once ok'd, they're all good to go.
