Misaligned Backup Camera

Has anyone else taken delivery of a Mach-E with a backup camera that is not facing straight back?

The camera seems to be slightly angled towards the driver side of the vehicle.

Mine actually is positioned the opposite way so that if I follow the guide lines they put my car too far toward the left in a parking space. I’m still learning how far to offset the picture to position my car just right when backing into a spot. ?‍?

I’ve learned to use the side view camera lines for lining up parking. The backup camera is more of a reference at this point. It just cracks me up that the camera location is centered on the rear of the vehicle, but is displaying a offset angle.

I’ve learned to use the side view camera lines for lining up parking. The backup camera is more of a reference at this point. It just cracks me up that the camera location is centered on the rear of the vehicle, but is displaying a offset angle.

Side view cameras? Surely you jest. Ford wouldn’t let me order them for my configuration. ??

I grabbed this pic as it shows a perfect example of how off the camera is. We were backed into a space lined up with the curb and parking spot line, next to perfect. Now if you look at the camera image, you can visibly see it’s not lined up to the back of the car, and because it’s not mounted square, the parking guide lined aren’t accurate.

Hmmm I think there is a backup camera alignment option in FDRS, I don’t think it’s mounted wrong.

While that may be the case, I think that’s just for adjusting the lines. You need to look at the cameras view of the rear bumper of my car, it’s offset to one side, telling me the camera was installed misaligned.

Agreed. I think you’re going to have to take it to the dealer to have it straightened out.

If you take a hammer to the lift gate just to the right of the camera it should straighten that sucker up.

My back-up camera almost seems blurry. I’m not sure if that’s just how it is or if it is actually out of focus.

I know this thread is old but I have the same issue that connoisseurr had. I used FORScan and FDRS to align the camera. I fixed it for a few days, then it was back to being off. Some days it is straight and some it's not.
