Ordered a premium eAWD and now wondering if I should have gone for the GT given there is not that much of a price difference. Was trying to look for all the differences but a bit hard to find given it was different on the 2022 model. Anyone a complete list?

Price +~3.5k
HP +~120
Miles -~20
0-60 -1 sec
Different front seats and only black interior
20“ wheels
Slight difference in outer measure

Anything else? Magneride I believe is only in the GT PE. Any people directly comparing the two and went for the one or the other and why? Would appreciate to hear some thoughts.

Thanks!!

I ordered both, and bought the GT back in 2021. I also had a hard time deciding between the two, so I placed two orders, and took the one that came in first.

The GT looks better (If you care about that sort of thing), and I prefer the GT ultrasuede seats. I think the GT suspension may also be better than the Premium, though you are correct it does not have the Magneride.

The Premium has a somewhat better turning circle.

One thing to consider, some people get surprised with when they receive their GT that it lacks some technology features that a premium has. So keep in mind that the small price difference is for the performance alone, not technology plus performance.

Ah yeah? What technology differences are there? I thought with the 2023 those were all the same?

Had both 2021 Premium and 2022 GT. No tech difference, maybe he mentioned GTPE. Initially bought Premium then upgraded to GT. My current GT much better then previous premium. Only one regret I didn’t ordered GT from the beginning.

I think that was true for 2021-2022, but no longer, where a base GT did not have stuff like the 360 camera standard like the Premium did. But I no longer believe this is true for 2023.

Back when I reserved my car I reserved a GT so I could get a metal roof. When the order banks opened up, I ordered a GT-PE for Magneride (there was no reservation slot for the Performance Edition, just the GT umbrella). ??

I haven’t checked the 2023 builds but if they are the same then the gt pricing is more reasonable. It was 360 cameras, bluecruise, sunroof, upgraded sound not sure what else.

Im suprised there are differnt steering components used. Is this an observation or actual specification?

Well, I have a 2021 GTPE and cant think of a single thing it doesnt have that a 21 or 22 Premium does. Actually, it has more than a 22. I have a foot acrivated lift gate.

I ordered a GT for the same reason I bought a GT back in 2008. Curb appeal, Badge pride, performance and resale (resale is last because I still own it). Never once since 2008 did I ever regret buying a GT. Almost every time I would talk to 6 cylinder owner I would hear those words never spoken by a GT owner, "I should have bought a GT". Jusify the $3k however you want just remember when your driving around in your Premium and you see that GT across the way, bite your lip, keep it in...... that GT owner sees you to, and knows what your thinking.

I think for the price difference for '23, the GT is a no-brainer.

What I wish Ford had done for '23 is put the Magneride on the Premium, left it off the GT, and of course left it on the PE. Would have provided more functional differentiation between the GT and Premium and given the Premium a more "Premium" ride. They could have given it unique tuning options for more comfort driving. I know it has the Mustang name on it, but it's more aligned with a family vehicle that has performance capabilities. I think Magneride on the Premium would give the vehicle an edge over the competitors for those that want a 5 seat mid-size SUV over a performance hatchback.
