Better yet, each week, like gas. Just park it & forget it for the day, doing a 2/3 fill.
I certainly hope you print a few flyers letting people know they can unplug you so they can make it home.

Yes let's not be snobs based on how big our battery is or how for our car goes. Everyone deserves a turn at the charger. Employers can/will have to put a ~two hour time limit on the charger so nobody can “park it and forget it” which should only ever be done at HOME.
I ran into these selfish people many times on my first BEV road trip.
And create a paradigm where employees at work have to run outside to move their cars all the time? Or get up in the middle of the night to move their car in the apartment parking lot? Uh, no, that's setting it up for failure.

Now, if you're talking chargers at stores and restaurants for customers, of course. Those are the short-term usages.

It's not a parking spot, it's a charging spot. I see people go out to their car all the time. It's not a big deal.
Do you park at the gas pump for 40 minutes while you shop at a store that also sells gas. No. Well this is the same thing.

Expecting people to be ok with strangers unplugging their cars is likely to lead to some nasty confrontations.

Besides, the car is usually physically in the way too.

Yep. That could make scheduling easy: allow folks to reserve up to two days/week for all day charging.

Why would someone leave their car unattended at a gas pump?? It takes 90 seconds to fill a tank. Makes no sense to leave, except maybe to run in for 2 minutes and buy a Slurpee.

Some charger spots are designed for parking long-term, others for short-term. Do you move your car out of your garage at 2am so someone else can use the charger?

You want to promote Bev’s and PHEV’s, what is the potential new ev driver going to think when every from work chargers always full with people who can't take the two minutes for a coffee/smoke/lunch break to move their car?
One plug can reach Up To 6 spots.

I have two BEV’s and one charger, I change plugs when they are done and really leave them plugged in once they are done charging.

Simple, they each take a day. That way employees aren't having to leave meetings and step away from the assembly line whenever their phone dings (if they even hear it) to take 5-10 minutes to run outside, move the car, and run back in. Basically using up their break (if it was even an acceptable break at the time the phone dings). Same for the next person on the waiting list. Then the next, and the next, and the next.

There's sure to be breakdowns in that chain. Work gets in the way. But moreover, it's unnecessary, and a waste of time. Just schedule a day and fill up then, just like people do with gas. Or two days a week if you're a high-mileage driver.

So you don't charge overnight? That would be very atypical for what 99.9% of BEV owners with a charger in the garage do, and will be doing.

That's exactly what I was saying. Take turns, but the PHEV driver needs some juice everyday. You need to work that into your schedule and not discriminate against the battery restricted. One of my cars only has an 87 mile stated range. I need juice every day.

From a Norwegian test...
9FA703C8-DB1D-48FE-8338-D01AC3DFD69D.jpeg
Getting back to the actual charge curve, I'm both pleased with the profile and disappointed.

I'm happy that the MME appears to hold a charge of 90kW or more for quite a long time, even when cold-soaked.

I'm disappointed like everybody else because the peak charge is not held for long and that 80% cliff is looming.

I'd like to believe that Ford will make some major improvements to the charge curve & time in the coming weeks and months but I've yet to hear a definitive answer from anybody at Ford saying that it's gonna get appreciably better.

I thought @OutofSpecKyle had some charging data from his test drive, was it ever released or did he hold off since it was pre-production/etc?

I really hope they eventually allow faster DC charging past 80%. There are a few trips were charging to 90% or higher makes the next leg possible without major range anxiety.
