Thanks, I didn’t realize it was that high. I’m assuming that sensor is reading the average drain stored by the ECU right? Because I don’t leave my OBD plugged in to track over time.

Not sure what else it could be. For a while I thought it was the Optiwatt app checking in too often so I deleted my car from it and deleted the app. Only other thing that may talk to the car is FordPass or Apple Maps which can see battery percentage when calculating a trip, but not sure it can be turned off because I think it’s tied to CarPlay.

I don't know if this is still the case, but I think you need to change your FordPass password to kill Opiwatt completely.
If I’m wrong, someone will set me straight in about 5 seconds. ?

I heard that too, so changed my password a while ago, don’t trust them!?

Yes, I strongly recommend you change your FordPass password so the connection to your car is completely severed. This has solved the issue for many.

Just curious, at a normal drain rate, about how many percentage points of SOC is normal to lose overnight? Or should your SOC stay pretty consistent over a span of - few days? I don’t think I’ve even seen my LVB over 90%, and it will easily drop 15-20% or more overnight.

As I mentioned on a couple of other threads I have gotten 12V battery fault warning several times over the last few months

the Car has always started and never had any issues.

my wife drove the car today and it happened again when she started the car. I called the local dealer and they checked the car and said to bring it in, see below

will bring it in either tomorrow or Thursday.

I have checked the car with the meter some of you have and seems a touch low, time to time but overall it works. Hopefully they just have to reset some codes.

For me it's less than 5% per day. It's usually stays around 80-95% SoC on my car.

Wow, those are almost identical numbers to what I got. The other day I was at like 74% didn’t really drive then the next day it was at 47%. Today I am also at 45mA quiescent drain.

First time I’ve ever seen the main screen be black and have a message about the system turned off to save energy. Car still started just fine but I’m concerned what this deep cycling is doing to the LVB.

I had the same thing on the main screen, turned off to save energy. I thought my wife might not have turned the car off yesterday.

I never have an issue starting the car and get messages at least once ever week or two that 12V battery is low.

after my wife saw the message I decided to call a dealer here in Florida. It threw off some codes so they said to bring it in to check it out, so tomorrow morning I bring it in.

they don’t have a loaner and no second car down here.

My car is at 70% after sitting for 3 days. That's a high key-off drain. Should be in the 20's like mine:

Guess I do have an issue, what are the chances that they will actually be able to find anything,

I have no add ins or anything although I do leave a couple of USB cords plugged in but those lights shut off in a couple of minutes

I used the car today several times and got the battery SOC up to 88%.

just went out to the car and it is 77% and quiescent is 43 Ma.

Last time the car was driven was at 4:30 for 20-30 minutes

Turn off welcome lighting and change your FordPass password to block prior 3rd party apps. Those are the usual suspects.

I don't think the dealer is going to help you much here, they'll just want to change your 12V battery and you'll still have the drain afterwards. You really have no relevant codes. The only one of concern is the active grille shutters, they could fix that at least.

@kennethjk what's the procedure for checking this? are you just turning off the car and getting out while running car scanner and checking right then? at some point the OBD2 power goes away, right?

I don’t t have any 3rd party apps that I am aware of. No utility company integration. The welcome lighting goes off after 5 seconds, or thereabouts, so not sure how that will make a difference but I will try.

the codes the dealer sent me was but not sure they are relevant to this issue.

thanks
