I would not be caught dead in a fucking rav4. Yikes. Need a shower to wash these thoughts off. Will type my response while I dry my hair.
I’ll say this grease from experience. When my Mustang was in the shop for computer module update, they loaned me an F150 power boost and it had a full tank of gas when I got in there. It said distance to empty 750 miles and I drove it for two weeks and put 300 miles on it and still had more than a half a tank of gas. I could seriously lean towards one of those, but it was a $78,000 truck just my opinion.

I replaced a Mazda CX-30 with a Mach-E. The Mach-E is bigger and a much higher performance SUV. While the CX-30 has good build quality it is still a step below the Mach-E.

Don't know if many of you watched JerryRigEverything compare his Lightning to a F-150, on a cost to own basis. But it got me thinking about what vehicle we Mach-e drivers would compare against.

I would assume both a style and size similarity along with the technical features of our cars have some good comparables. Different parts of the world probably have different answers of 'the best comparable', but I'm in North America.

I'm sort of leaning on a RAV4 as my answer, but I'd like to hear your answer.
I cross-shopped the Mach-E with the Kia EV6 (‘Wind’ trim), and it was a CLOSE call! IMHO they’re both attractive but in obviously different ways, and the EV6’s chassis composure was noticeably superior (it reminded me of several older BMW 5-series I owned). I did not like either of my local Kia dealers and so chose the Mach-E, the dealer for which is only two miles away. And I am COMPLETELY satisfied with my Mach-E, but when its lease is up in July of 2027, I will be looking around again at the competition and technology to see where it has advanced to, and if anything else can cause my eye to wander away from the Mach-E!

I was literally walking into the dealership with the salesman ready to sign papers on an Edge Titanium that I had just taken for a test drive when he asked if I had ever driven a MME. I laughed thinking "silly electric vehicles", but sure, I'll take it for a spin.... One week later after a lot of research, I walked out with my 2023 MME CR1 (now traded for a Lightning).

I would say a comparison for the MME non-GT would be the higher trim Edge or Edge ST for similar size and utility, similar tech, and it's a Ford.

Truthfully for my use case, an electric Edge would have been preferable for me, but the MME did look way more awesome in a mid-life-crisis sort of way :)

it is not directly comparable, but I am renting a Ford Escape right now. Many of the same Ford features, of course…very familiar. Not a bad car!

RAV4 is not sporty, nor as pretty. But for 4-passenger use it feels roomier than a Mach E. Many people would find them comparable.

You’d need a Macan GTS to even come close, and that’s a $100k car.
Yah, that is just crazy to think about. At some point, I'm going to have to test drive a GT. I've been running "tame" (Premium in Whisper) because it is winter here but I've been getting the itch for some aggressive bursts.

@MacherAWD I have never driven an Audi or BMW sports wagon (just a BMW 5 series) so I'll just have to take your word for it.

For EVs, I compared it to Ioniq5, EV6, Model Y and ID4 in the jacked up electric wagon category.
ICE, we browsed the X3, CX5/CX50 and Q5.

Alas, while the product is good, the Ford dealership exp. is by far the worse rivaling VW's. Low rent typical Detroit smarmy vibses. Glad we don't have to go there.

Despite what some forummers here think, the Rav4 is a very good product. Supported by demands. Can't say the same of the B4-whatever X thing.

Rav4? Not even close, small, slow, ugly, basically a large prius, and lacking luxury.

I would say more of a 5 series wagon, or an A6 wagon. Thats generally what I tell folks.

My Chevy Bolt Premier is much more in line with a Rav4
I love my Mach-e GTPE, but I think it’s a stretch to say it compares favorably to a Mercedes AG or a BMW 5 series. As for the RAV4, we are now on our third one, and we absolutely love the car. Above anything else is the reliability factor. Something I don’t feel I have long-term in the Mach-e.

9 years of EV driving and only ever had tire rotations and new tires. My Highlander was 9 years old when we sold it, never needed anything but routine maintenance which was still about 2k more than I have spent across all my EVs.

I can say this, the first time I drove the Mustang GT electric I was so impressed how smooth it felt but after owning it for a while, it is not a comfort car. It’s fairly comfortable, but it is a pretty rough ride. As far as I’m concerned it’s got a sporty suspension, the GT at least and I did not want to go into any modifications to make it ride softer. I did put the Michelin cross climate 2’s on it and it Road a little better, but it’s a sports car and even the RAV4 and the rogue still have a little bit of a rough ride, but they are a little more comfortable to drive.

I’m in Chicago, Pierre! I have winter tires leftover from my ‘22 Premium. It’s funny when I WOT it and the front wheels spin as it catapults into higher speeds. Good times. Although I got two speeding tickets since I got it less than 2 months ago. And they just passed an ordinance to lower the limit even more??‍♂

On a road trip a RAV4 hybrid would be no comparison because the RAV4 would be considerably cheaper to fuel with gas now at $2.85. I saw an EVGO/Pilot station at .69/kwh the other day.

? Oh my (the tickets). I live two miles from a stretch of I-95 that comes out of MA, briefly goes through the NH coast and on into ME. The number of people getting arrested for going over 100mph has quadrupled in just the past few years. NH is passing legislation to raise the fine from $500 to $750. Maybe I won't try that GT after all ?.

Would you give me that gas price a month from now, please?
