Also, Scoop just uses PAAK and he leaves the fob hidden in the car inside of a faraday's bag exclusively for towing, so he can give the fob to the tow truck driver. A sad reason, but saved him when he had his second hvbjb failure away from home.

Makes sense, dropped in for an urgent fix (bottom cover was flapping in the ground at 30mph) and I only had the phone. I had to stay handy with my phone although that was good as they fixed it quick rather than doing it the next day!

I am not even mad about it. But literally every question that is posed on this forum can be Googled. I, I think we all do, want your information, usability and experience from people who use the products we recommend to each other from each other.

I plan on using an Air Tag when I get my MME next month. Where in the car is the ‘best’ place for it? My first thought is the sunglass holder in the upper center console.

I honestly don’t know what it’s for, but there’s a “holder” (for coins maybe?) at the bottom of the center storage between the front seats. It almost looks like it was made for AirTags. That’s where I have mine.

I have been too cheap, and procrastinating about getting a faraday pouch for my Fob I keep in my backpack. I think I will pull the trigger on that. I keep my backpack in the MME a lot and just use my PAAK. I don’t think I will be doing that anymore….

So, if a thief takes your car and has an iPhone, then they will receive a notification that an air tag is following them. Then they can use the precision find feature and even have the air tag emit a sound to locate it. Then they can just throw it into another car or destroy it.

So, if a thief takes your car and has an iPhone, then they will receive a notification that an air tag is following them. Then they can use the precision find feature and even have the air tag emit a sound to locate it. Then they can just throw it into another car or destroy it.

You could mod the AirTag so it doesn’t make sounds.

All True....but when my DIL borrowed our truck, we forgot to tell her we had an Air Tag in it.....Basically, it took about 12 hours for her iPhone to notify her about the AirTag.....so maybe, you would have 12 hours to locate it before the bad guys figure it out? I honestly don't know how long it take for the air tag to ping unknowings....but for my DIL...it was about 12 hours.

Put a few Apple AirTags in your cars in out of the way locations.

I have at least 2 in my primary vehicles. Don’t make it easy to get them.
