So ive noticed if i have a passenger, most of the time, when you try to type somthing in the nav while in motion, a bypass button comes up that lets you enter stuff using the keyboard.

Does anyone know how this works? Is there a simple seat sensor that can be bypassed?

I cant belive ford still locks out the keyboard, tesla and others do not.

The voice command never finds places, need to enable type in motion....

I guess if no one knows, ill start looking into how the seat sensor works....

Safety feature, Toyota doesn't allow it while the vehicle is in motion. Not even for the passenger.

That seat sensor likely also controls the airbag, seatbelt warnings, and other safety features. Bypassing it wouldn’t be prudent.

“Tesla allows this” is about the worst possible thing you can say in a safety argument.
