Was in-city street information always this detailed? I haven't looked at fully zoomed in before the other night and was amazed and how much I saw:

I know the "building visualization" (forget the proper name) was there, just didn't know if this level of street detail was always there as well, or if this was a 2.3.0 thing, or....

I think it's a feature in some cities! I was driving up to Chicago, and as soon as I entered downtown, the map blew up (/in), and I could see lane-by-lane detail. Although it's an improvement, it was unnerving the first time I experienced it. :D

Definitely some areas specifically. These maps are made by Garmin, so I guess it's up to them

my Garmin standalone GPS that I would use when traveling (*) had this level of detail so it makes sense. Just didn't know if the Sync 4A implementation showed it all along... ?

(*) "why, when you have a smartphone?" because I could just mount it on the rental car windshield and keep it there, plus it has a built-in dashcam

That's actually pretty cool. But I'm addicted to Google Maps these days... :(

The detail view has always been there for me but only in certain areas such as downtown Phoenix and interstate freeways. However, it didn't auto zoom based on speed initially. That seemed to come with a Sync update early in the summer of 2021. The view would zoom up/down in increments at 25 mph, 34, 45 etc.

I think the max zoom I have seen is 100 ft though. Your screen shot says 80 ft so that might be new?

When I first saw the super zoom view I thought it was showing which lane I was in but it turned out just to be a coincidence. I have traveled in other lanes since but the arrow icon remains in the center of the road. Some pics from last summer...

Holy damn that is detailed! I'm lucky if the map even shows some roads up where I live! ??
