Loving my brand new 2024 Premium. I charged to 100% yesterday with my apartments slow chargers, parked it, then woke up this morning to 98% and about a 15mi range loss. It had only been parked about 8 hours. Does this seem normal?

I also park in an underground structure with zero service or WiFi so could the car be trying hard to find service?

there's 1% possible just on rounding, and measurement isn't always super accurate so i wouldn't think 100 to 98 is a sign of any issue

specifically i'm trying to say, it's not even clear the battery was draining, as much as just the % it was displaying to you changed....

Perfectly normal. I charge to 85%, by the time I pull out of the garage it will be 83% then stabilize. I wouldn't charge to 100% for a steady diet tho.

Right, was just for a short road trip! Sounds good, though thanks!

You also didn't lose 15 miles of range. Your GOM reads 15 miles less.

Also, parking with 0 service (underground structure). Is that terrible for software updates and stuff?

If it can never connect to wifi I think you will not get updates.

Updates should download whenever they are available and the car has connectivity. It doesn’t have to be parked at your residence.

OTA updated are delivered by the cellular network. All that needs to happen in addition to an update having been queued for the VIN is the car needs to be in a decent AT&T cell area and the 12V battery needs to be at a decent State of Charge. Cars will download while in motion or while parked. They will then install when the car is powered down. ??

Yes. I obsessed over the "GOM" -- and trying to apply equations to a variables-designed uncertainty -- until I focused on what the "G" stood for. For whatever comfort it may give you, my 2023 Premium AWD does the same thing. It's only got about 3,000 miles, and never has been L2 or fast-charged (only with my 120 volts). It took some review of the comments from the more experienced/knowledgeable folks here to get me less obsessed.
Good News/Bad News(?): I like the car so much, I'm wanting a 2025 Rally (that's the "good news"); but prices on used 2023 MMEs have plummeted so much, it's going to be out of reach....

I just learned something new.
Who woulda thought it uses cellular?
That explains something. I have great wifi in my garage but marginal ATT at our locations.
Updates haven’t been as quick as I would have thought.
Thank you.

Outside temperature will change the % charge even though the actual charge in the battery doesn’t change. Although in the morning it should be colder and should read a higher % charge. I wish Ford would report the actual kWhr charge. You can get this through the OBD reader and car scanner app.

Updates are delivered by the cellular network or wifi. From the manual:

" Software updates are delivered wirelessly using the vehicle modem or Wi-Fi. "
