New FordPass app? Not sure how I feel.

How did you become a beta tester?

The FordPass app just suddenly presented the option try the beta version.

It’s a button you push at the bottom of the screen to switch to the new app. Only some people get to push the button. Most people have no button.

Mine does not have that at the bottom. Could be because I do not use my phone as a key?

For those with an Apple Watch with cellular, one big improvement is the AW app. Not only does it look and work better, it can be used without a phone. The previous FordPass you had to still have the phone nearby to use the watch functions even with a cellular AW. Now it works without the phone. PaaK still requires the phone at this time though, it's just the start/lock/unlock buttons to be clear.

I have always used my watch instead of my phone to open the door locks. It works much quicker.

Some people may not see it because you have to SCROLL to even get there. Because dumb.

It's hard to believe that an individual can create a better app than a company, with huge resources, can make for their own product. I've been using this one on my Android phone, and I think when Ford releases their public API, this app will probably get even better. Thanks @kennelh !

The 5.0 release should be pretty close with how much they have added over the last few updates. I stopped using release version some time ago and in my head, it seems like PAAK is faster. Haven't had any big issues so far.

Download the FordPass Pro App and it does tell you the current lock status.

Could availability of Version 5 be tied to the vehicle having a specific minimum Powerup version installed to support some feature(s)? My car is still stuck on 6.6 and I don't have an option to try FordPass 5.0.

Got a try FordPass 5 button in the app. I like that the language is more EV centric but I hate that they buried the frunk button in a menu… again. The fan button turns on climate control.

Which update is this, there is no update in the App Store.
