New FordPass app? Not sure how I feel.

Got a try FordPass 5 button in the app. I like that the language is more EV centric but I hate that they buried the frunk button in a menu… again. The fan button turns on climate control.

I was impressed by the latest updates they pushed to it, you should have seen the older versions on TestFlight.
Its almost on feature parity with the current iOS store version, it may be in my head but the beta seems to connect and turn on the door buttons faster after I put the latest RFA update on the car as well.

Change is fine, but this is a huge step back for how they’re using all that real estate

The buttons no longer need to beheld down to activate so I guess that’s why they buried them to avoid accidentally opening the frunk or trunk.

They had a signup process online probably have to search it out on google.
But lately I have had it just show up at the bottom of the screen when it updates on the ios store and you open the app you will see "try fordpass 5" button at the very bottom of your main screen. The app restarts and you are in the new phone/watch version.

I was hoping they would add a toggle to turn the whole software key on or off. So instead of having to completely turn off BT on my phone I could keep headphones etc connected but turn off the key in software while at work so I dont wake it up every time I walk by. I submitted it as feedback so I did my part

Actually, if you take a look, you'll notice that everything inside of the drawer is directly tied to Paak controls -- BLE connections.

You'll also see the icon and connection status clearly denotes if these controls are available or not, which was largely a common complaint/issue in the 4.x application.

It's definitely not in your head. Performance is absolutely key with this version of the application. What could be done, was done.

Our Cyber Orange has always shown on it, we have been in the beta for months, never has it not shown the car.

Its only in Beta, but works great on android. Yes I would like to not have to scroll, but once we are at feature parity I will only use the new app.

For those with an Apple Watch with cellular, one big improvement is the AW app. Not only does it look and work better, it can be used without a phone. The previous FordPass you had to still have the phone nearby to use the watch functions even with a cellular AW. Now it works without the phone. PaaK still requires the phone at this time though, it's just the start/lock/unlock buttons to be clear.
