So very new, picking up the 2022 (5k) miles AWD premium w/ extended battery this week. I have a couple questions

1- I am getting a L2 charger 240 plug put in with 50 amp breaker and wonder if i should get the juice box 40 or the Charge point Flex. Both would receive rebates from Eversource.

2-Cold weather range? i know weather affects the range and pre condition is the way to go. But I have a 100 mile RT commute 2 days a week with no charging at work. (but would be in a parking garage ). I know if i charge at night it should be good but how much would the battery discharge sitting outside in say 32 degrees? Hypothetically if i pulled in with 100 mile range at 8am and left the office at 4, would it go down 30-40%?

3-What are the best Apps to Download for trip(charging points) etc.

Thanks in advance for the newbie question, I guess we were all new at one point!

I have a 2021 Premium AWD extrnded battery. I installed the Chargepoint home flex and hardwired it with a 60 amp breaker. Ii works fine.

you should have no issues with a 100 mile round trip when leaving with 95% charge and precondition the battery before departure from home.

The plugshare app and ABRP (A Better Route Planner) are what I use for longer Trips. For local charging I use the Ford Nav system

The car will not lose range sitting. The colder battery will have a small amount less capacity sitting cold. Do a remote start, then off you go. Yes, a cold battery will not be the same as a preconditioned one, but it won't be an issue driving 50 miles home.

I agree with @Tbird about range. I'm in NH and because it has been so unseasonably warm and I charge every night, range has been a non issue. Even if you have to go 100 miles a day.

I only charge to 90% using the provided charger. I do plan on getting the Chargepoint Home Flex because of the granular cost to charge data it has.

It is okay to charge to 100% by the way. The ER battery is a 99 kWh pack. Ford already puts in a buffer by limiting the available capacity to 91 kWh. If you plan to leave the car sitting for several days, it is not a good idea to leave the battery at 100% (or zero for that matter). That being said, at 95% on a ER pack, you will be fine.

I have a 2022 Premium ER. Enjoy and welcome to the wonderful world of the MME!

If you are saying CT to upstate NY via NH: Plan your route and check out he Plugshare app. Always build in a buffer and even consider having a backup plan if a charger is out of commission. Northern NH is still sparse in terms of LV3 charges - but with your route you'll probably want to look at the Electrify America in Lebanon NH @ Walmart (off of I89 / I91) as one option for a good LV3 stop on your route....if that fits your plan....
