I look forward to a better app. but at first glance, I can't see the "Ford Connected Charger" usually found in the account menu, found by pressing in the upper right corner and then having options for notifications/email, Connected Services, and the Connected Ford Charger. I track the Insights data from the Ford charger and now I can't see the charger to be accessed via the new app.
I had that last night when I updated the app but after it charged last night it popped up under energy:

I've been using the V4 Beta for some time now and the V5 official version, although only on its 2nd day, has been crisp and hasn't faulted.
I do have the advantage of already being very familiar with it and knowing where everything is at.

There are a couple of things missing from the V4 version admittedly, but this platform that V5 is on promises to be more reliable and quicker.

I realize that invites ire from anyone having V5 issues of course.

Android, by the way. A 2 year old Samsung FE trim. So far from a flagship.

PAAK made the transition without hiccup. I was wondering if it would.
And I think you can confirm whether it is connected by both the Android notification that resides permanently on Android, as well as the Bluetooth icon being highlighted in color in the app itself? I'm not 100% sure both are the same Bluetooth connection. I need to investigate.

Hi Mustang Mach-E owners! If you recently updated your FordPass® app, you may have noticed it looks a little different. We are pleased to share that we have rolled out a newly designed app that is easy to use and efficient, to help you better manage your vehicle remotely. Here is what is new:
  • Simplified Experience: We have reduced the number of steps it takes to access functions and made it easier to find them. As an EV owner, you can enjoy a simplified slider for target charge. Also, instead of having to press and hold to turn the vehicle ‘on’, it is now a simple tap.
  • Apple Watch Integration: If you have an Apple Watch, in addition to lock/unlock and remote start/stop, you will also be able to use the following features from your wrist:
    • View battery level and range
    • View charging status, including: Charging speed, next departure time based on when desired charge is reached, current preferred charging window
    • View vehicle location
    • Activate horn and lights remotely
We are also continuing to improve the in-app experience with this latest version. If you notice a feature you previously used before is no longer there, don’t worry. The feature can still be accessed via your in-vehicle touchscreen.

We love to hear from our owners so let us know what you think and if you have any questions about FordPass!

Sometimes on the app icon, I will see an orange dot, what does that indicate? I thought it may have been a message, but I see no message; so maybe an update?

Not a great “update” in my opinion. The previous version was very user friendly and intuitive. When using that version I never once had to stop and think about how to do something. This new version - pretty much a total opposite.
My Target Charge section is completely blank in the new app. As is the Preferred Charge Times section. Yet these are both set and working in the car, and in the previous app version.

Opening the Apple Watch is slooooow for me. I have an Ultra 2, so I can only imagine the wait time on older watch hardware.
If the progress wheel is spinning for 3+ seconds before anything comes up on the screen, I just put my wrist down and give up. Watch functions need to be snappy to be useful. No button press in a watch app should take more than 0.5s to respond.
It opens super quick on my Ultra 2. Maybe reinstall it on your watch?

@Ford Motor Company thanks. It was well worth the wait. Here are 3 main thoughts I have:

  1. my primary complaint: door lock status: I can’t see from the main status screen if the car doors are locked. This is vital, my Volvo app has been doing this for years. And possibly send a reminder push notification if my car is off and parked and the doors are not locked. (Again, Volvo does this)
  2. My number one feature request: Charging Costs: would be to let me specify the cost per kWh - and that would show me how much money I am spending per charge and per month — that’s pretty common feature smart charging apps. You already track the usage now it’s simple multiplication and a month by month graph to show trends
  3. Feature 2: Apple Watch complication: instead of the ford logo on my watch face, how about giving me a chance to see the battery percentage and/or miles remaining


If you’re looking to add to the Early Access / Beta program, I’m your man

Buttons fail to load. Thankfully there is a "Previous Version" option at the bottom of the screen.

After posting this, a Play Store update for FordPass came through. The buttons do load after the update.

That is the "Minimalist" Tesla version apparently :)...

I think the app looks great and works great. I've had very little to no issues with it since using it.

So, why all the problems with the other users? I think I'll wait a few weeks for more bugs to be fixed.

I can still find the odometer and char

ge to 100% ad-hoc but those options are buried and not clearly marked. "Charge to 100%" is useful the night before a longer trip without having to change your regularly scheduled program.

Do the people who work on the app actually own and drive a BEV?
