Wow, can't believe I didn't notice...getting old. Bought my wife's Mach-e GTPE in April and was washing it today. I was getting ready to dry it (the dirt looking stuff in the photo is water)

and the sun was coming down, shining on the Mach-e and WOW. What a paint color difference on the plastic tailgate. I don't know why Ford went plastic on the tailgate anyway, the GVW is 5980.....20lbs short of IRA 179. I haven't seen this before, anyone else notice this?

I think it is an optical illusion created by the shadows and different light angles.

The end of the story was long lemon law process and finally buyback.
I upgraded to the GT with DMG color and guess what? It has the same color difference… but at this time I decided to live with that, cause I really love this color. It is hard to notice in most circumstances but sometimes the difference is very visible especially under my garage light. I noticed that all MME has this issue not only in DMG color. How dealer explained me the problem is that the liftgate isn’t metal.
PS I don’t want to disappoint you but if you look closer to the rear bumper you’ll find the same problem ?

Same issue here with red, decided to live with it as there were many other problems to work through (still going after over 18 months.) One of those things that noticeable when you know it's there, but come across as lighting/reflection to most people.
