Now I just got the notification of OTA ECG-24-2.5.6. No idea what it does. BTW - I'd received BC 1.3 mid-December after like 8 months of nothing. (I'm in EA).

It appears to be a communications glitch or bug with Ford. I drove into town today and the remote climate control worked fine at both stops. After returning home, it was back to failing again. That’s a bit odd as the remote climate control has worked flawlessly for nearly 4 years now. Cellular coverage can be weak in this area but not non existent. Out house and garage are not below 1 bar and usually close to 2 with AT&T plus it’s connected to our WiFi.

I can no longer remotely start the climate control in my car since receiving this update. I tried it three different times today and got a failed message in FordPass each time. I haven’t tried setting up a scheduled departure time since receiving this update yet. That’ll happen Saturday morning.

It’s not a big deal temperature wise as our winters are brutally mild here but it shouldn’t be failing.

I have experienced that a number of times with car OTA updates and with Ford Pass updates. This time everything seems ok for me. I’ve used the remote climate control a few times in the last couple of days. It’s interesting how this has different effects on different vehicles.

Got notified that this came mid-morning. Prior to that, remote start failed, twice, with car honking. Just tried it again, and it worked. So, perhaps the update caused issues, but then a key cycle (or 4, my wife ran errands) fixed it.

I've had the remote start settings for several months, this is simply an update for the Gateway module, no features, IMO.

Wow! I’m shocked that HI allows septic tanks in new developments. When I had the house in FL, I had a septic tank, but my house was built in the 1950s. New construction had to be connected to the municipal septic system (this was on the Atlantic coast on what many would call a “barrier island”, but we called “the peninsula (because the 16th century Spaniards hadn’t figured out it was an island ?)

It’s a very rural state outside of Honolulu, Hilo, and a couple of other locations. We live 20 miles from Kamuela, for example, and the cost to run sewer lines would be quite prohibitive. Other places are on volcanic rock and those are beyond prohibitive. The same can be said for drinking water.

Septic systems are a huge improvement over cesspools but certainly not ideal. There’s no easy solution, there’s no solution that’s not stunningly expensive, and our reefs are paying the price. Ask @ChasingCoral, he’s the expert (really).

Interesting. I wonder why it’s not disabled on the lightning? Are you able to bring up the keyboard and type in the search box? And scroll through the list of chargers presented?

Now that the Mach E received 10.1.0 Public Charging works while underway and I can answer your question.

Public Charging is primarily intended for use finding nearby chargers. It was actually developed as an app for fleet customers of eTransits but has been opened to the rest of us.

You have a variety of filters you can use and it will find the nearest ~ 20 chargers that fit your parameters. You can scroll through that list.

It also has a search feature but the keyboard is grayed out when underway. Unlike Ford Nav there isn't a "passenger override" either.

I haven't tried using it with voice commands but I rather doubt the Ford voice command would do much with it.

10.1.0 seems to also have fixed the issue with wide view (panoramic) camera delay of 30-60 seconds that was introduced with 6.14.

This is the bug where after you turn the car on, if you choose the wide view camera, it won't go into that view for 30-60 seconds. So if you were backing out of a space and trying to see if there were oncoming cars, you have to put the car into reverse, wait 30-60 seconds before camera will display wide view. Now with 10.1.0 it's back to being almost instant.
