I suspect that the issue only happened IF a previous update left a module "hung" in a state that didn't let it sleep. So it would result in a parasitic drain on the 12V AGM.

And the reason that replacing the battery on a towed to the dealership car seemed to be the fix is only because once the car battery was completely drained, and/or the hung module was powered down (reset), it was no longer a hung module?

Or put another way, if the vehicle with the hung module (after the suspect update) had just reset (Forscan, for example) the module, the lockout might never had occurred?

Pure conjecture, on my part. Admittedly. But experienced conjecture based on the Ford vehicles with OTA capabilities of the last 4 years.

I received the solution OTA yesterday on my 2023.5 GTPE. I was aware that it was a prime candidate for the lockout. I even unlatched the Frunk a few times, just in case. (rather than the string. I'm lazy? :)
But I really didn't believe that I would experience the lockout because I fuss with the car in Forscan/FDRS enough that my modules experience resets more often than most.

I got ECG-24.2.4.10.2 this morning and my wife's car got ECG-24.2.4.10 yesterday. Do we know the difference between the .0 and .2 versions? My car has newer software (BC 1.3, 6.14, all of the 6.x), while my wife's car did NOT receive all of the 6.x updates or the BC 1.3 or 6.14.

Both cars are 2023.0 GTs

I was wondering that too. I do recall a few weeks back that MikeG saw back to back GWM updates in FDRS. Perhaps 24.2.4.10 was the first one he saw and then 24.2.4.10.2 was the second one?

Your line of thinking about the version difference might be correct as it aligns with the experience of my car which was fully updated via FDRS and OTAs. The only update I had about a month ago was the GWM update.

Hopefully we can all put the lockouts behind us with this update for good.

Interesting observation. My car is also a 2023.0 and I received .0 version and did not receive BC 1.3 or 6.14 either. Previously there were also 2 ECG revisions of another update, ECG-24.2.4.9, and ECG-24.2.4.9.1 I received .0.

Maybe Ford OTA systems are a production exercise of chaos engineering.

I got ECG 24.2.4.10.2 yesterday on my 2023.0 Premium standard range. I do not yet have BC 1.3, but did get 6.14.

I received the .2 version on my 23.5 as I mentioned above. My car came with BC1.3 but also received the 1.3 update in July. I think it was some enhancements to the 1.3 it came with. I bought the car in March. It received 4 or 5 updates in the first couple of weeks according to a member who ran the VIN at my request. Another member did some FDRS and forscan magic for me including the one that fixed an issue with the charging ring lights going off after reaching the requested charge level. At this point I don’t recall what the underlying issue was that manifested itself in the ring light staying on. Then in July I received 3 or 4 more updates culminating in the BC 1.3. To be honest I really have no idea what the other OTAs were. And then 1 am or thereabouts Wednesday the 24.2.4.10.2 showed up. Evidently my car has done reasonably well in the OTA lottery.

I think track9979’s comment is accurate.

In a different thread I asked Mach-Lee if he knew the difference between the 24….10 and 24…10.2. He’ll probably respond when he has time. It’s not a pressing issue, just curiosity.

They’re just slightly different versions for different model years (e.g. 2023.5 vs 2024)

That can't be because our cars are both 2023.0 GTs and 1 received .0 and the other received .2. Our cars were both built in May 2023.

Received .2 update on 2023.5 GT today.

So this is the lockout fix, right?

Nope, it's just an OTA to make the GOM even more inaccurate. Ignore the other comments from this thread. :ROFLMAO:

23.5 checking in - received ECG-24.2.4.10.2 today. Last update received prior to this was BC1.3 in the middle of July. Had one instance of the car not responding to the door open buttons probably about a month ago. It eventually let me in after maybe 10-20 seconds, so not a complete lockout.
