By "release notes" are you referring to the OP? If so then I would expect them to be very legit. He's been a good source of reliable info before.

If it's something in the video I am not going to give her any more clicks. Can't stand her, and she's a drama queen that spews BS clickbait headlines.
This. To both parts.
Since I have been branded "reliable", I will type out the actual release notes:

FordPower-Up 1.71

Notes, Remote Vehicle Setup added;
feature enhancements

We've been busy.

Notes lets you draw or take notes on your vehicle touchscreen. Your writings and artistic masterpieces can be saved. Notes includes a handy calculator and a tic-tac-toe board to kill time while waiting for that curbside takeout.

Our new Remote Vehicle Setup lets you use FordPass or the owner's site to set up profile preferences, including all your radio presets. It's all stored in the cloud and sent to your Mustang Mach-E through the SYNC 4A system.

Navigation automatically makes helpful destination suggestions (but you can turn that off if you like), plus new cloud connectivity combines conversational voice command recognition with internet-based search, so you get the latest info with almost every request.

Apple CarPlay compatibility displays on-screen turn-by-turn navigation in your instrument cluster.

Finally, the user-profile icons on your SiriusXM with 360L radio will be a bit bigger, and there were a couple of bug fixes.

Whew.

Ongoing updates like these help ensure that you're always driving the best possible version of your Mustang Mach-E. Keep in mind that update availability varies by model.
Thanks @RonTCat

I just want Ford to add a setting to remove warning beep when I close the trunk ?
Maybe in next release…
That's a bit of a safety feature in the event someone is in the way and the close function is triggered either inadvertently or accidentally.

Why do I have the feeling 1.7.1 is going to come with of right before BlueCruise is released? I guess we have to wait and see.

I actually appreciate this feature. . I've been konked in the head with it, and it didn't feel good.
Because I use a wheelchair I had to turn off the foot swipe feature. It kept closing the rear hatch when I had my head in the way if my feet went under the rear bumper.. lol

I’m told one of them will finally fix the alarm motion sensor setting retention bug. After six months of waiting, so close…..

Funny that my car says it’s up to date but this is not on it.

If someone could test CarPlay to see if this update includes the expanded screen space teased on the Lightning once this rolls out, you'd be the real MVP.

Thanks for sharing the release notes! I didn't catch that you received the update personally, so I wasn't sure where that was coming from and how you got it. Wasn't sure if it was speculation/wish list/or a real thing. I guess you're reliable source then! lol  I've updated the board that shall not be mentioned with that info.

I had never seen this teased/shown. Hope it does make it's way to us eventually.

Are there any other cars that allow you to actively change the size of the Carplay window?

None that I know of, although it is listed as a capability on the CarPlay developer site. I'm curious to see if it works as smoothly as you'd hope it would.

Hyundai’s 10” screen allows you to change from ⅔ width to full width. That is a setting you change in the car settings. I assume it would work the same way with our cars by pressing the expand button.

The only difference is Hyundai’s system is wired, not wireless.

Subaru also has a special vertical orientation of CarPlay.
