Anyone else have a watch (mine is Android) that connects to their phone via Bluetooth (primary, WiFi secondary), and noticing an increasingly poor battery life since they got their Mach-E?

Been really annoyed with this. Today it dawned on me that I wasn't complaining about battery life on my watch (barely makes it to lunch) before we got the Mach-E. And lately when I've gone in and looked, my watch is disconnected from the phone via Bluetooth, which means it's using WiFi, which uses a lot more power.

Today I'm checking the watch hourly to see if it's lost the Bluetooth connection, and if so whether PAAK is connected, trying to prove this to myself.

Anyone else having similar issues?

Modern phones can support several Bluetooth connections simultaneously, you shouldn’t be having a problem. Have you tried rebooting both the watch and phone and maybe reconfiguring the watch connection.

Yes, both have been rebooted. After this experiment (checking the watch BT connection hourly), next step is to redo the phone setup.

Been checking every hour. All was good until just after 2PM when the watch no longer had the Bluetooth connection to the phone. Checking the phone, I can see that PAAK connected.

Conclusion - PAAK is breaking my watch's BT connection with my phone.

I will test this further at some point.

I had a Fossil watch Q and noticed the battery wasn't lasting very long. But I figured it was just an ageing battery. I traded it in for a Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and the battery on that is very good. It's at about 60% when I take it off at night.

Bluetooth on your phone should have no trouble with multiple simultaneous connections.

Aside: My phone is a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.

I had the same battery issues with a brand new fossil watch. I found that my watch battery life returned to normal when I tell PAAK to "cancel" looking for my car when I am at home or work and going to be away from my car for a while. It hasn't impacted PAAK working for me when I walk back to my car.

I recently upgraded m phone to Android 13, and now have daily issues with my Garmin watch and PAAK. As a test, I swapped to the fob for a week (no issues), and just swapped back to PAAK (issues again).

It doesn't happen immediately, but sometime during the process of starting Ford Pass, driving the car, using Android Auto, and closing/canceling PAAK mode, the phone will disconnect and refuse to reconnect to the Garmin. Oddly I can stay connected to my Bluetooth headphones just fine (and the issue occurs regardless whether I have those headphones synced). So the issue really seems to be just the watch.

To get reconnected, I either have to reboot the phone, or disable Bluetooth for about 30 seconds (quickly toggling it doesn't work).

Been having issues with my Android watch, and my phone updated to Android 13 on 8/5. Likely the cause.

I wear a Breitling. My power problem is remembering to wind it. ??

Same. Or forgetting it has 31 day calendar and needs to be adjusted for months that aren't 31 days.
Ha ha. Mine doesn’t have the date complication. Old watch. ??

So, I didn't have connection issues after 13, but I noticed the android auto notification kept popping up constantly. Check your Android auto in-app settings from the phone, somehow it thought my watch was a valid car connection. Removed it and all is fine now.
