I recently picked up an iPhone 17 Pro to replace my iPhone 15 Pro. On my old phone, PAAK was nearly flawless, almost always opening the door instantly the first time I pressed the button. But now, almost every time, I find myself standing by the door and pressing the button, and pressing it again, and again, and again, before the door opens after several tries.

Does anyone know if there is some setting or something else that needs to be tweaked to help the new phone out? The Ford app already has "always" access to my location, my phone is never in low power mode, background app refresh is off (but always has been, and in any event, is not a bluetooth feature unless I am missing something?).

Any thoughts?

It may be a combination of the new iOS, 26, and the new phone. Apple has a habit of changing things then telling the car manufacturer about it after the fact. That’s presuming they made an intentional change of course. For now, I’d consider removing PAAK from the car and phone and then go through the set up process again.

I didn’t notice any change in behavior. Still works well. Approach light come on within 5 feet and I can open the door on first try.
I have more issues with PAAK since 26.0 was installed than before. It got better with 26.0.1 when that was pushed but still not as good as iOS 18 imo. I am on an iPhone 15 Pro Max though.

I’m on an iPhone 17 Pro Max running the latest public beta of iOS. PAAK is slightly worse. I find that, on rare occasions, I have to actually open the Ford app for the vehicle to unlock nice never seen a pattern to the behavior though.

Works fine on my 17 Air. At first it was buggy since all I did was just upgrade the phone. Then I reset the key on ford and reinstalled everything. Been fine ever since.

I had to reset mine with the new phone. 1)remove all details from the car 2)remove everything from the phone. Start over.

16 pro max - it's been so bad for me since iOS 26 that I carry a key fob :(

Thanks, I'll try this this week. Hopefully it improves the issue.

Why did you reset it, because it was a new phone, or you were having issues like me?

Actually, now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure I did have to set it up when I got the new phone since I don't think the PAAK digital key just transfers over the way the login credentials for most apps do.

Just in case you didn’t see, Ford App updated yesterday to 6.1 with performance improvements and bug fixes.

Nice, I had not. I just downloaded it. Let's see if it helps when I approach my Mach-E at the end of the day today.

I might have removed and added the key since I upgraded. But I can’t remember for sure

I had the iPhone 15 Pro with iOS 18.6.2 and 26.0.0 and it was slow to react sometimes.
Then I got an iPhone 17 Pro with iOS 26.0.0 and it was totally unresponsive. I had to bring the key fob with me.
Everything went back to normal (and actually better) with the release of iOS 26.0.1. The key fob is back in the drawer.

I did the phone to phone copy and it didn’t land right.
