I was doing some tests w/ PAAK's presence detection for allowing unlock and I'm shocked at the results. The vehicle considers the phone 'present' when inside a structure and 20' away. I've gotten it to extend to 26' sitting next to a 6" drill bit likely due to the unintentional radiator effect (in a structure). I'm not sure if some of their "fixes" included a lower signal floor for activation or what. The phone used for this test is an S21 -- BT performance may vary by device. If you have situations where the phone and vehicle proximity may present a situation for this to occur, I suggest you test your vehicle operation with the phone sitting in different locations. A cat walking along the rear bumper and activating the tailgate kick switch alerted me that something wasn't as it should be. The phone was 16' from the vehicle on the couch.
(to clarify, this is passive phone operation as it'd be in your pocket, not manipulating fordpass buttons)
