go to your car without your phone in range and open it with the door code and then press the pedal and push start
Thank you. I received an email saying I set up the back up code. Put key in faraday and moved phone I thought far away but maybe not will try again tonight. This time I will turn my phone off.

I recently turned off PaaK because a) I carry my F150 fob with me for easy frunk access and b) with the fob and Paak both on me walk-away-lock rarely works. ?

But not having the emergency start code enabled (Ford WTF did you enable this only when PaaK is set up?!?) is a bit of a worry. That is largely mitigated by the fact that my wife carries her fob with her when we go on trips.

UPDATE...So I turned my phone off and placed the key fob in a faraday case. Entered the car through door code and tried to use the backup code. The screen would not open up to allow me to enter the code. Tried multiple times. Yet when I setup the backup with PAAK Ford sent an email stating I had activated a backup code. So I went and got my phone and key FOB and tried to access the backup code process and I kept getting an error. Not sure what I have done wrong? Yet PAAK works fine from iPhone.

Did you press the brake pedal while you pushed the start button?

Yes I did. I am thinking it won't let me see the backup setup because its already activated and throws the error.

Yeah, you'll get an e-mail every time a back up start password is used. But you can continue to use it still, it's just letting you know someone used it.

Well that makes sense, thank you. I wonder if i should delete the PAAK with my iPhone and set it up all over again. Seems like I should be able to use the back up code. I even tried doing it twice with brake pedal and start button like in the Ford instructions. Or leave well enough alone since my phone works fine. I misplaced the second key fob when we recently moved is the only reason I went and set up PAAK. So its not the end of the world if I cant use the code.

I've used the code maybe once or twice, PAAK has been solid. but YMMV depending on your phone and how many BT devices you've got around, but I've always been able to get it to work. It's a good backup to have setup even if you usually carry the fob.
