I can get car play to work and I can get Ford Pass to see the car and lock the doors, but I can not get PAAK to complete. After copying the code in PAAK setup, it always fails after a few minutes. I have removed my phone and started from scratch at least 12 times to no avail. This is not something I can bring in to my dealer since I'm not leaving my phone obviously, and they won't sit there and help me while I wait, so I guess I'm just out of lick on this?

Ford says that carplay should not be enabled when setting up PAAK. Is that correct? I have tried without car play on at least once or twice unsuccessful though.

Dig through the settings on the car and reset paak and Bluetooth. I can’t remember exactly what the option is called but I had to reset it for paak to finish.

becuase they are too busy and just won't. Anyway I think the problem is with Ford Pass and bluetooth connecyions getteing crossed or something. Tech support at Ford couldn't fix it either. it just doesn't work anymore. at least car play does though.

Can you try a different dealer that is willing to help customers?

Only thing I could find on the car is delete phone entirely and reset bluetooth phone connection and then try again before enabling carplay. Syncs, but Paak nevr completes the bluetooth connection, which is odd since the basic bluetooth functions of ford pass work fine.

I guess. But I don't think this is a problem they can solve. They will wan to wipe all my settings to factory default and start over. Too much to go through and I don't think that will work. I think it's the current version of Ford pass on top of the 2.5.2 Sync on top of ios 16.1 that can't play nice. Mostly Ford pass is the buggiest of that trifecta. oh well. FOB it is.

I agree with this but couldn't get it to forget my phone until I restarted sync.

I would also delete all the car bluetooth connections from your phone. If I remember correctly you will have 2.

Start fresh and focus on PAAK and then do carplay.

There’s a paak reset, shouldn’t be too hard to find the menu is pretty straight forward.
I wouldn’t bother with the dealership, try the support number from the app.

yes there are two BT connections and one can be removed but the other always connects and then disconnects in a loop and can't be removed as such the same way. That may be part of the problem.
I have stripped everything out completely phone and car, (even uninstalled ford pass) shut the car down, gone away, came back and started from scratch. nada..

Good luck on them doing that. I do understand that there are dozens of phone models and OS versions and bla bla, so it isn't easy to be compatible to all of what's out there. but lets be honest, PAAK has never really worked very well on a large scale. It has been iffy right from the beginning. Reliable technology really isn't as advanced as most people assume.

Hello! I would like to look into your PAAK concern on my end. Can you send over your VIN and Ford dealer info via DM?

Whenever i had to reset up my PAAK after the app crashed or something, I found the PAAK setup doesnt copy the code, i had to type it in each time. Thats my only suggestion besides what posted above.

Make sure both Mach-e connections are removed in your phone's Bluetooth settings and the phone is removed from the MME. Restart your phone and turn the car off, open the door, close the door, wait 1 minute and then turn it on.

Pair your phone normally to the MME, say yes to CarPlay.

After you're paired, go to your phone's settings and make sure Personal Hotspot is off then go to General > CarPlay > Mustang Mach-E > Turn off CarPlay

If you'd like, turn your car off and on again so the phone connects via Bluetooth only.

Now do the PaaK setup, make sure you have CELL COVERAGE, don't do this in a parking structure or low signal area. Should work fine as CarPlay won't interfere with the Bluetooth connection for Paak.

Once you're done, go back to settings and turn CarPlay back on.

Please note: You should NOT need to do all this, but I ran into an issue same as yours where I could not get past the copy and paste code portion, disabling CarPlay and making sure I had solid cell service finally allowed it to continue on.
