Thanks for the offer! But you know the 1/4 mile will be disappointing, per all the posts in this forum, so maybe just a few 1/8 mile runs. ;-)

I checked United and same as always: no real information. The VIN works, but nothing happens when I click on the dealer name.

So if our cars were on that ship, we should be getting them very soon. Maybe next week. I am beyond ready!!!
Haven't heard back from my dealer, but now I am sure your car has been transported to Newark, New Jersey on board the Grande Torino. I am really excited now because there is a good chance my car shared the same ride.

There were two manifests for this shipment, all I had to do was to pull up the other one:

Look at Bill of Lading section: GESM is the carrier code for Grimaldi Lines, which operates the Grande Torino:

The rest is exactly the Voyage # shown on your VVR.

Super awesome!!! Thanks for doing the work to find that!!! I should buy you a beer on my way back to VA, but probably the detour is too far.

What does your VVR from your dealer say? Mine still says it is at the plant in Mexico but says shipped Oct 1. An insider from Ford looked it up for me and said it was suppose to load on the train a few days ago but the VVR has not changed. So I have no idea where my car is unless it truly is just sitting at the plant. I am also in the Mid-Atlantic area so at this point I hope it is on the boat with you all but no idea. Might be buried under so much dust they can't find it.

According to this ship locator, the Grande Torino arrived in NY about three days ago and already left to Belgium.

Still haven't heard back from my dealer regarding the VVR...

I think @mkhuffman 's ship date is also October 1. My car has a ship date of 10/8, yesterday I looked at incoming inventories within a 50 radius from my home and collected VINs with the five digit sequence number +/-2000 from mine, as well as those 8000-10000 above mine. I found nine more vehicles in addition to mine with July production dates but not released until 9/29-10/8 due to chip hold, NONE of them have shown up in Kansas City three weeks later, this is in contrast to orders for customers on the West Coast that were also built in July and tied up in chip hold - those vehicles appeared in Kansas City last weekend. On the other hand, orders with VIN's 8000-10000 above mine were built in late September/early October, with ship dates from 10/9 to 10/14, started rolling into Kansas City last weekend: the difference here is that they were built and shipped quickly, never subject to a chip hold. I don't know where this "off-site" holding location is, whether it is logistically easier to just utilize the Port of Veracruz or Ford is trying to get the backlogged orders out with limited rail capacity. Wouldn't be surprised if this off-site location I near the port,, which they use for European orders.. So far @mkhuffman 's order is the only one confirmed to be on that vessel, but it would make sense if those July orders still haven't reached Kansas City because they were never supposed to go there.

My build week was Aug 23, started the 19th and completed Aug 26 but on chip hold until Sept 30, then shipped Oct 1. Dealler visibility report says at the plant.

Your situation is somewhat different from mine, even though I never requested a VVR showing my car was sent off-site as mkhuffan's did, it was stuck with "in transit" status for 12 weeks before it was "built".

Sorry, I mixed VVR info and tracker info. The tracker showed "in production" until Sept 30 showing "built", then Oct 1 shipped. However, the shipped box remains unchecked and says "in process". The VVR showed produced aug 26 but then moved off site for chip delay on Sept 2. So very similar to your situation and @mkhuffman but my VVR shows shipped on Oct 1 but lists current location as the assembly plant. It has not shown up in KC and a Ford person thought it would load this last Tuesday but the VVR remains the same.

my vin ends with 00xxx.

@Accord07 and @Plutoman15, it is true. They are shipping (literally) cars via ocean vessel to the east coast. My dealer confirmed my car arrived in Newark sometime yesterday. He has not provided an estimated arrival date to the dealership, but Newark is pretty close to my dealer, and also an easy drive to anywhere in PA.

The ship date was 10/08 from Mexico, so anyone in our region with a similar shipping time frame, and up and down the east coast, probably has their car in a port or maybe already on a car carrier. Of course there are driver shortages everywhere, but the east coast is in much better shape than the left, I mean west coast (for obvious reasons) so I bet they will transport our cars fairly quickly to our dealers. I hope we see them sometime next week!

Happy day! Time to review Ford Options!

Do you know what this means? Since Ford is shipping to the east coast via ocean vessel, it means that in addition to checking palsapp, we have to check the weather. Obviously a bad weather event like a hurricane will cause ocean vessel delays, right? So much fun!!!

I wish I knew which way my car went. The Ford person that was helping me was rechecking after it appeared the train loading didn’t happen as he thought and has gone quiet while rechecking where my car is. Either he got busy or is having trouble finding it.

Hoping he finds it on the East coast with yours.

If so it is strange it did not indicate Veracruz like yours did. Also strange the only reporting still has it at the plant. ??‍♂

Yikes. So if mine, headed for Massachusetts and follows the same route, having shipped (literally) on 10/19 would place it in Newark around 11/8. It’s only a 3.5-4 hour drive from where I am in Massachusetts, but it’s anyone’s guess as to how long it’ll take to get trucked to my dealer here!

Dang, I wish they were shipping them up the west coast. MX to Port of Oakland would have been way faster than train to KC then the mule train out to SoCal, then up to NorCal.

I just looked at your past post and our dates are nearly identical except for the last vvr entry. We both were shipped offsite on Sept 2 and both released from chip delay on Sept 30. But then mine says shipped Oct 1 and remains at the plant (which can’t be correct since it was sent off site) and yours shows Veracruz. Sure seems like mine should be with yours but the system didn’t update correctly. ?

Only time will tell if this was a one time thing to clear the chip hold backlog, or something Ford will do regularly. At least for a few days after the departure of Grande Torino they continued to send cars to the East Coast via Kansas City.
