Phone as a key setup problem

So it turns out you can not have an emoji as your iPhone name if you want to use phone as a key.

I had no trouble setting up my phone but when setting up my wife's phone it always failed. After about the 10th attempt with multiple reboots of the phone I remembered her phone was named one of the dog emojis. Something similar to ? Renaming her phone to not include an emoji let the phone as a key setup process complete successfully.

I am not sure if that has come up before but thought it could potentially be helpful information for others to know.

Recently my Phone (iphone 12) lost some of its connection to the Mach e. I still get mileage readout and percent and distance to empty, tire pressure, but the phone won't unlock the doors or start the car. I also do not get the notice that the car is locked by walk-a-way lock feature. Nothing I've done can clear this up. Any suggestion?
