phone charging platform and leg ergonomics

Hello all,

Got my MME on Friday and have loved it so far, there's just one thing that has been irritating me. The phone charging platform cuts into where my leg tends to naturally rest while driving long distances. Does anyone have any ideas on how to tastefully add a cushion there?

Maybe a mouse pad? Can often find those in black, trim it, and stick on with double-sided 3M pads?

Yep. I actually started getting a bruise on my leg shortly after getting the MME. But I've been using the pipe insulation for about 18 months with no issues. I ended up peeling the adhesive completely off of it and just slipped it over the edge like you see in the picture. Since it's not attached, it's super easy to take off if anyone else is driving and doesn't want it there.

as for the foam tape, I think I need something more substantial. Gonna try the pipe insulation first.

Just make sure you get the rubber foam type (like in the Lowe‘s link). There are other foam types that are firmer and wouldn't be as comfortable.

yeah I opted for the firmer version. I thought the rubber might be too soft and could bottom out.

I think the rubber on top and firmer foam underneath would be ideal, might give that a shot at some point.

I have a similar issue with the screen where my knee hits the lower right corner of the screen in a painful way. Was hoping to avoid unsightly foam rolls but may not have a choice. Having a screen in the landscape orientation would have avoided all of this for me.

So far so good. If the adhesive stays in good shape I think this does it for me.

They are exactly the right size and shape and don’t look conspicuous.
