Do we no longer have access to creating a trip on phone? Seems my only options are google or Apple Maps.

Now I can’t plan stops for charging unless I am sitting in my car?

Correct, that feature in the old app has not yet been added to the new platform app. Looking forward to that.

Why would you use that when your phone maps do the same?

Do they connect to give you recommended stops based on your battery level?

Apple Maps will if you tell it that you’re driving a MME. It won’t precondition the battery though and it can’t consider Tesla SC’s with an adapter.

Here are the reasons why I like to execute my trips using the built in navigation:

* the built-in navigation knows my full driving history, so is better able to account for my driving patterns.
* I feel it does a little better with weather, and just as good on elevation, as ABRP.
* I like being able to use Carplay full screen for other purposes (mostly Music) and not have my phone doing double-duty.
* When Carplay is active on another app full screen (e.g. Music), I adore the little mini-card for the built in Navigation at the bottom of the display the tells me my next turn. And, the IPD next turn indicator that comes on 1000m for the turn works with Apple Maps (via Carplay) and the built-in navigation, but it doesn't work with ABRP navigation.
* Battery preconditioning in winter (turns out, I just received this software update, Powerup 5.1.1, so although I've tried to precondition last winter, apparently I haven't yet done it successfully.)
In the quoted thread there are some workflows for entering your stops and destinations as saved places or favourites while sitting in the car. It doesn’t take too long to enter a trip planned with, for example, ABRP, into the built-in navigation.

But I sure hope they add the feature back into FordPass, so I can do it from my house, or a hotel room.

So I'm doing a road trip tomorrow and after planning it out with ABRP/Plugshare it took me less than 5 minutes in the car to enter the stops (chargers, destinations) as saved/favourite locations in the built-in navigation system and then create a trip in the built-in navigation system by picking the favourites I had created. Tomorrow I'll execute that trip using the built-in navigation.

I'd sure like to be able to do it in Fordpass, and send it to the car. Removing that capability from Fordpass was a slap-in-the face IMHO, especially with no explanation and no announced timeline to replace it. But, I'm trying not to be *too* annoyed, and remain calm, since it only took 5 minutes to do it directly from the car's screen.

Also, the main charging stop I chose is a Tesla charger (because I want to try out my A2Z Typhoon tomorrow), so it won't be pre-conditioning the battery. Oh well.
