I have recently noticed a dramatic increase in tire noise in my car. I have the original p0s. Lots of tread left after 8k miles. The dealer said “they all do that” . I went to a pirelli dealer who seemed to acknowledge they all do that, but showed me it is explicitly excluded from the warranty. I looked at other car forums and it appears to basically always happen with these tires. The general recommendation seems to be “give up and buy new Michelins”

I’m going to agree that the OEM P Zero’s are a noisy tire that does get worse as they wear. However not all P Zero’s are noisy. Some of the quietest tires I’ve had were P Zero’s with the alternate luxury tread pattern and acoustic foam inside. Just all depends on the model P Zero one gets.

I’m loving my Michelin cross climate 2’s, The wife didn’t like the way the car rode with the stock Continentals and I’ve always had Perelli on all my other gas powered mustangs and these are the quietest, softest tires ever eowned.

And on sale currently. I keep thinking about them as they're so close to the RX's price. I've got them in my Discount cart currently, with 4 other tires as well lol. I'm just not totally sure about the tread patten for me. But hey function over form lately.

I'm not a fan of P0's, we had a BMW X3 that came new with P0's, all 4 worn out at 18,000 miles. Replaced them with Michelins, sold the car with 46,000 on the clock and 5mm of tread all round.

You replaced them with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S's?

I’m quite happy with my new Pzero Elect all seasons. Keyword is the Elect versions.

Nicer ride than the stock Michelin Primacy tires, no discernible range change (gave it 1k miles and miles/kWh is identical), better grip by the european test and in driving it, and to me they seem a tad quieter (but that is subjective as I haven’t tested). I think the sound insulation foam goes a long way for dampening the road noise.

Wow I only got 5400 on my stock tires. I put on Toyo Proxies Sports and have just over 10K on them and the tread is about 6/32 so time to start looking for new ones. Thinking about the Michelin because they now have ELEC rating.

I found the PZero AS3 plus on Discount Tire, in 245/45/20 only :( +1 size tires are hard for this car.

From what I can remember, yes run flats. I should have also mentioned that the Pirelli tyres used to tramline, almost to the point of being dangerous. The Michelins were nowhere near as bad.

Ok. My point was, you mentioned the P Zero's were worn out at 18K miles but the Michelins you replaced them with had 28K miles on them and still had tread left when you sold the car. The P Zero's are summer performance tires with a low tread wear rating. The Michelins you replaced them with were not summer performance tires so they would have had a much higher tread wear rating and that is why they were lasting longer.

I run Michelin Pilot Sport 4S's which is a summer performance tire so, in the same class as the P Zeros and never get more than 20K miles from them and usually less.
