Checked 12V SOC on Ford website Monday (saw a post) and it was 90%. Yesterday saw the note about electronics shut down to preserve battery and today, I saw this message on the Ford app to plug in to maintain 12V battery. A quick check on the Ford app shows 12V is down to 60% (maybe due to it installing 23-PUM3-UNX-DC ?‍♂) while HVB is 76% (charged to 85% Monday).

My question is plug in what, the 12V? My understanding from the owner’s manual and the FAQ section here is that in my situation plugging in the car would only charge the HVB. Is it telling me to remove the frunk and connect a charger to the 12V?

You could do that, and it would work to solve your problem.
But it's probably more trouble than it's worth.

The FordPass message is telling you to plug into an L2 charger, and during that time it will use the DCDC to also bring up the 12V SOC.

I typically charge at work (free). I decided to plug in at home yesterday with the ford charger to a plain old 15amp circuit. This morning my 12V is 100%. My High voltage battery only went up about 18kw. Even the slowest charging seems to take care of the 12V.

At some point I will get a faster charger at home, but it seems like the LVB likes more time rather than more power.

I plugged in to my L2 charger taking the HVB from 76% to 86% which, according to the Ford website, took the 12V from 60 to 79%. I then disconnected the L2 and attempted the leave the parked car on for 30 minutes move as described on the FAQ page which added another 3% to the 12volt with no displayed degradation to the HVB.

thanks for the assistance. My takeaway is just plugging it in to the L2 will take care of the 12Volt if it really needs it.

my experience with ‘plugging in’ to charge the 12 V battery is as long as the charger is still charging (you haven’t reached your target HVB SOC) it will increase the 12V SOC. After the HVB SOC is reached, the 12V SOC will be maintained, but it will no longer increase.

Well said and seems to be what I observed as well. The car learns our habits so well that it suggests i visit other businesses near my regular five mile trip to the gym but not so well that it knows to charge the 12volt during those routine trips ?
